Aqua UV 57 watt big enough??

I have a 265 FOWLR (about 360 gallon total), I have a small ick problem that keeps coming back from time to time. It's never a huge problem, but it does look a little worse each time. I want to try the "UV thing" and hope this helps. I currently run ozone right now.

I was looking at the Aqua UV 57 watt Sterilizer, and my flow to it would be about 1000 g/h. Does this sound reasonable? or should I go bigger and what about the flow. Any help please?

I would say that the 57 watt is good for your size tank......just dont run too much flow through it. If you are trying to rid ur tank ofich and other parasites you want a slow flow to give more exposure time. Probably around 300-400 gph for a 57 watt? Anyone else?

If price is no option go with the AquaUV. 80 watt sounds good to me too, quite capable of handling a 360gallon system

it's big enough ,but if you already have ich in the tank you have to treat it or it on't go away ,a sterlizer can help solve the problem, but, you my want to use some kent marine rx-p to get the stuff that sterlizer doesn't get and like xtrmchopz said ,keep the flow down! good luck

You should be fine with the 57W UV for your tank. I run a 40W on my 300g works great. I also run Ozone on the tank like yourself. I run 400g/hr through my UV.

Don't go with that much flow, stick with around 400-600 gph. Remove any of the fish that exhibit signs of ick to a quarantine tank if you've got one. Try to treat them there directly, and while they are treated the UV stertilizer should help reduce ick in the main tank. I would go with the AquaUV.
