Aquacontroller III ?

It's a smart move on their part. If they don't plan on releasing the AQIII for a few months or even years, but they announce that it is being developed, then demand/sales for the AQII will plummet.

This would hurt them and their distributors.

Well... their sales stand a chance of falling as well the way it is, as people will look elsewhere for a product that has the options they need.

There are many companies that advertise upcoming versions or releases with no issues that affect their future sales.

So far I do not know of any product that comes close to what an aquacontroller does, let alone offers more features. The Octopus3000 has a very poor reputation as a controller. I'd love to see other products out there if you are aware of anything.

That's pretty cool. Don't know anyone running them though. Would be nice to se what they think about it.

But looking through the features, there are still a bunch it's lacking that the AQ2 has: no external switch (float switch) detection, no paging capabilities, no web interface. I also like the AQ2 in that you can have the choice of hardwired or X-10.

But I still want to see what's in store for the AQ3!

I agree to the first point. I myself have been evaluating similar products, but I will probably end up with the the AQII simply because it has such a strong following and seems to be a quality product. The octopus is buggy, and while the iks products look good, I'm unwilling to purchase something that other reefers have little experience with.

I would agree that many companies advertise upcoming versions, but these are usually larger companies with multiple product offerings. Neptune pretty much offers one product and I doubt their finances allow an extended period of slow sales without another product to keep them afloat.

Ha! That's funny Vince - I just emailed them earlier today as well. What a coincidence. :) We'll see tomorrow if they bother replying.

I'm still waiting, though, I should have bought a AQII - would have saved $$ on AC over this summer with it I bet. :) (used for cooling via fan staging, etc.)

Got a reply from Curt...

He's unable to provide information regarding unannounced or shipping products.

Gee.... I think we've heard that already....

Oh well.

I called to order a AC2 and inquire about the AC3 I told the guy I didn't want to shell out the cash if they were just going to release AC3 any time soon, and the punk that answered the phone was very rude giving me that same line about not disclosing any information on new products.... Needless to say I didn't order one that day

Yeah I got a curt reply from Curt. ;)

I figured as much too - but I thought what the heck, it might be out but just not on their site yet, etc.

Oh well. A few other things to purchase first, then we shall see.

If you sit and wait all your life for the next best thing to come, that better computer, that newest controller, you will never appreciate what you have. If the one that you are looking at now does everything that you want it to, who cares if they might be releasing a new version in 6 months or so.

This one threw me for a loop. I couldn't figure out what everybody was talking about! I obviously wasn't paying attention to dates! LOL!
