Sorry to hear about the butterfly taking a liking to SPS polyps. Hope he doesn't decide that all SPS are food.
Also sorry to hear about the new fish not doing well. Wish you the best of luck with the hypo treatment. I feel your pain on dealing with fish that don't seem to do well, especially in QT.
Thanks, he's been pretty good since but did quite a bit of damage to my slimmer that day. The fish in QT are so full of parasites, the larger of the two Angels is eating well too, I hope I can get them through this.
Sorry Brett. That completely sucks!
Ordering online is so "hit or miss" these days.
Why can't we have an LFS that is able to get in what we want, reasonably priced... quarantines and treats everything before they hit our tanks.
Thanks Dan. I know man, I almost opened my own store around the time SEA opened but then construction picked back up and I went back to work. If I was positive I could make the same salary that would be a cool job. It really is what I love to do but not sure if its what's best for my family and they are all that matters.
Sorry to hear about the sick fish Brett.
Hypo+chloroquine phosphate.
Hey Jim, I'm still on the fence about diagnosis on this one. I quickly jumped to the conclusion that it was ich but I'm not seeing the skin symptoms just a lot scratching. I noticed some pretty serious head shaking today and decided to start with prazipro and go from there. I've always respected your thoughts though and would love to hear them.
Sorry about the sick fish Brett, danfeig is right about hit or miss. I know this doesn't apply but when I deal with delicate fish I actually set up 2 different qt tanks if I'm ordering from 2 different suppliers (or locations with liveaquaria Wisconsin/LA) just because I've been burned by mixing the two and contaminating healthy fish with disease.
Hopefully your Mitatus is just sampling and cools down once he gets use to your feeding schedule. I use to have had angels that would immediately sample any new coral would put into my tank, and they usually cooled down after a little bit of time. I don't know your feeding schedule, but if he eats dry goods it might be worth looking into an auto-feeder to feed more often throughout the day. I'm not sure how that will impact your SPS water chemistry though. I wish you luck, and keep us updated.
Hey Ed, I Normally have two set up these days too but with the ten days early and zero notice they caught me with my head you know where. I didn't even have time react. I got the tracking notice the night of my anniversary, you can guess how much I got done that night. I went to work the next morning and came home to fish. Ill do my best with them though, hopefully it works out.
As far as the Mitratus goes he's a pain but I love him, LOL. he does eat pellets really well and I did put the auto feeder on after that first day, hopefully this helps. So far he only like slimmer :spin2:. Thanks for the help man, really appreciate it.
I hope it works out for u man!
Thanks man, me too. these multi bars are some of my favorite fish I've ordered yet, they have such a great personality.
