Aquapod 24 - how far to fill?

How far do you all fill the Aquapod? I've filled mine to the bottom of the rim the goes around the top and it looks a little full! :) Should I only fill to 1" below maybe? I've been filling tanks for years, but never had one quite like this. I'm just interested to hear what others are doing.

I fill mine to the top, but my overflow regulates it so I have about an inch lower in the back chmabers than in the front part of the tank.

Mine is not doing that. At this time, I have nothing in the back chamber, and I'm not going to put those sponges in there :). I have all of the overflows blocked in the back except the one at the top of course. It seems to me that the rear chamber and front are pretty much the same. I'll play with it some more tomorrow. Thanks.

what i did to keep the tank itself full constantly and just have the back filters go down with evap is cut an old credit card up to fit so that it covers the additional half of the overflow that isnt covered. It creates a waterfall effect. It will lower the back chambers a little bit but it works great for me and i was able to use my ATO with a float valve in the back since that is the only part of the tank that shows evap! HTH

The way I have mine set up, both the front and rear chambers are at the same level almost. Even setting this thing up the way Current wants you to, most have said that the level in the rear is less. I wonder why mine is not like this? Is it because I don't have the sponges in there? Should I take all of the overflow panels off? I'm just using the stock return pump with a MJ900 in the front. The rear section where the return pump is appears stagnant. I know it's not, but it looks that way. I'd like to see more flow in the rear at a lower level.

Randall - did you do the CC thing on all of the slots, or just the one on top?

i have all of them plugged up with the stock covers. I just used the credit card for the top one that they dont send you a cover for. It works great for me and like i said i never have to worry about the level in the tank dropping, just the level in the back chambers. And thats how i wanted it.

I don't use those sponges either, when did you get your AP because mine is the latest model supposedly they've made some changes, like allowing it to do the watefall effect because they added an extra plastic blocker. Just don't fill the tank too much, it'll even out the water in the front, and have less in the rear chambers by itself.
