Aquascaping, Show your Skills...

I love that pink tail Trigger. I'm saving up my money for some crosshatch's. I think there is just something about the personality of a trigger. i don't know the kinda remind me of my dog. Always begging for more food!

Geso... what sand bed do you have. I really like it. I'm about to start changing mine. The sugar fine just blows around way to much. Are you happy with yours?

All these tanks are awesome! Keep em' comin.
Thank you Lps157. The aragonite is tropic marime the fat one.

Geso, LOVE your tank!

what bulbs are you running?

Thank you jennmac415.Actually are not ours. the aquariums above belongs to friends and we do the aquascape. The light is liteco with 8 T5 HO. the bulbs works with a GHL profilux. Someone write down the weather condition of a place near red sea for two years and these notes pass through the controller to the light. So we have only 4-6 hours foul light and the other hours it’s like a cloud passing instantly and things like that

I'm a fan of the island setups.

I find that looking at freshwater planted tanks provide much insight and inspiration.

I completely agree that freshwater planted tanks can provide inspiration in the composition of a reef tank.

I would love to see Takashi Amano taking on a reef tank aquascape. Supposedly he has a reef tank on display in his company's lobby in Japan.

I agree. If it's one thing the FW side is clearly superior in, it's the aquascaping. The elements and the "rules" are the same, I'm sure they can be applied to reef scapes and some of the examples here prove it.

Here's an excellent example of an "island" from Amano's own gallery in Nijata:

Hello everybody we are the proud owners of the elos 120 xl this is Angelina speaking..
Geso and sifnos helped us ,with their experience, with the aquascaping but i think something that helped us also was the quality of the rock and the grate shape of it.

The sand bed isn't TMC , it was very hard to find and it's 3-5 mm crashed coral .
Also the pulps are ATI ( 5 blue special and 3 blue plus ) .
i have to admit that it took us looooots of reading and browsing, mainly in RC (thank you guys!!!), in order to finalise the hours and the selecion of the pulps :lolspin:
We are extremely happy with our new set up .:inlove:
