I am just planning my aquascaping on a 60 cube.

do you typically put the rocks up against the back wall or leave space between the back wall and the rocks? I have a center overflow so I am thinking of putting up the rocks up against the center overflow.

do you typically make the rocks half the height of the tank? So I have a 24" high tank, and thinking of making the rocks go up to about 12".

I like the way you used the newspaper to get an idea of a layout, but did you have to search for the rock after or did you already have the rock?

This was Jan '08. I loved the look but the stack left a lot of areas for detritus to accumulate...

Here's a pic as of August '08 after I tore everything down to plumb to the basement. Only one rock rests against the back glass.

Hope to be upgrading to a 250g soon that's 3' wide... should be much easier to aquascape compared to only 18".

Too bad you were having problems with the original setup. I liked the way it looked.

Like the rockwork. Looks like alot of water movement going on in there too. Any problems with deadspots behind the rock?

Clean looking. How did you put all the rock together? Glue/ epoxy? Or just stacked?

This is my 5' 120. It's been up with water in it for about 2 months now. I guess I have to get some updated pics!

Here it is when there was no water in it.

Awesome! Hoping to mimic this in my 150g I'm setting up. I picked up some acrylic rods glued to acrylic flats to help me stack it.

Another awesome looking tank! Anyone have a 150g (4'x 2' x 30") aquascaping pics? I've got a coast to coast internal overflow also, so I have to plan around that as well.

Great! I don't know which way I should go. I like the amount of swimming space you have, but also like some of the tanks with alot of rock.
