Here is what I am starting with...can't really see but there are really 4-5 islands that curve around each other. No rock touches the back wall. 92x35x28

I'll be exchanging a good bit of rock with several more plate style shortly - before all the real corals come upstairs. (need to decide on the lighting first)

Nice tank. Have you thought about making one or two of those islands taller than the others? I realize you are leaving room for coral growth, but the uniform height is kind of meh.

Ironically just finished changing things and making the islands different heights...LOL I'll get some updated shots when the dust settles.

Thanks it's a custom 175G 44X36X24. The lighting is Ati 10XT5. I have 3 vortex pumps & 3 Korila's for flow.

Those of you with shallow tanks, can you mention any particular challenges you had due to the low height.

My new 96"x30"x14" is almost ready to come home and I am already having withdrawals from the good ol rock wall layout I am used to.

Some of the latest "volcano" style aquascapes in shorter tanks look pretty awesome. Having a little of the rock come out of the water with a drip on them.

Got a fair way to go before it looks the goods, but the tank is only a week and a half old yet.
