Aquascaping

Hi,

while planning my incredible new reef aquarium I am looking at solutions for aqua-scaping.
The one thing I never liked in my old aquarium is the "dirty", "overgrown" back wall. Originally I thought I will make xenia cover it all but that never worked out.

This time I am thinking to build ont he fact that the wall will overgrow with Coraline and other stuff and make the wall "life".

Overall there seem to be two ways of doing this:
-Black Pond foam
- special concrete mix like this (http://www.marcorocks.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=105)

While I can find quite a few posts on reefcentral about this, everyone else seems to use foam. I personally have a hard time trusting foam but then I am not sure I should trust this cement either.

Anyone any experiences with that? I think I would really like the look of this
I would ue actual life rock for the rest of the aquarim aqua scaping ...

Comments / Thoughts?

i've used a mixture of 3parts portland cement,2parts oyster shell,1part rock salt, and I have not had any problems other than it takes awhile to get any real growth on it.I use these"rocks" for platforms to hold live rock above my sandbed giving my critters access to the sand.
