Ron,
You responded earlier in the thread, and only after I hadn't heard back from you, but anyway, the probe with the big EC is the older of the two and other then the rust issue seems to work. The probe that I was sent to replace the rusty one is the one that is not working. I noticed that others are having the same rust issue, that might be the problem with inaccurate readings?

I just checked the new probe and take a look, this might be the problem. The probe on the top is the old one and has a small amount of rust around two of the four rings, but look at the new one. Not good. You can keep sending new probes but if they continue to rust the readings will never be accurate.

Thanks Ron for the update on problems. It really helps us as customers to put things in perspective.

Has anyone received a message on their controller like "Errore di debug"?

The controller displays normal readings for a while and then throws that error. Pressing "Enter" returns the controller to a normal display.

I started receiving this after resetting the controller and removing a defective power unit.

Has anyone tried using different salinity probes? Maybe pinpoint?

Try reseting the controller one more time. I have had to reset it twice in a row before to get the pc interface to work after reseting it once.

Mine seems to display this about once every 2 weeks, randomly almost. It doesn't seem to affect anything and I'm not sure why.

Has anyone figured out how to monitor an Aquatronica remotely yet? When it first came out the buzz was that the Italians showed how they could monitor their tanks back in Italy while at a show in the US. I am trying to figure out how to do this. I have -

Aquatronica with PC interface, and lots of goodies
Imac (but could get a PC if needed)
.mac account - my own website, but I don't know how this would work on a PC if I need one

I'm willing to buy parts, but I don't want to do this with bubble gum and super glue. Is there a way to get my stats online so I can monitor - or even change things if needed. If not I will probably need to sell the entire package and get something with this capability.

Thanks,

David

Right now you are pretty much stuck with remote control software. Such as PC Anywhere or RealVNC. You can then connect to your computer (which can connect to the Aquatronica) from any computer with internet access.

This should hopefully change very soon as the Ethernet interfaces are on their way... we'll see.

Thanks Psyire. So could I run it with PC Anywhere, then relay the info to the .mac account? This is the part where I get confused. Sorry. I just don't know how I'd "see" the info if I'm on a remote computer.

Is there an ETA on the Ethernet Interface? Will that have to run through a computer, or can it be independant like the ACIII Pro? Is there any teaser info on that?

Thanks!

David

I can't see anyway of getting around running a PC to connect to the Aquatronica. Unless your MAC is able to run PC software and has a serial port that you can use PC software with.

But if you had a PC that was connected to the internet and was able to connect to your Aquatronica then you could run a service like RealVNC. This would allow you to make Java connections from a Mac.

Aquatronica --> PC (with RealVNC running) --> Internet <-- MAC (or PC)

We are hoping to see the Ethernet module in the 2nd Quarter. There will 'hopefully' be a built-in webserver that will make stand alone internet access possible.

Thanks Psyire. Obviously its a great controller, but I have decided to sell it. The main reason really is because the tank I have coming in (Elos) also has a controller that seamlessly interacts with other features on the tank. Funny, its Italian as well.

If you took a Voltmeter and stuck one end on the ground and the other in the tank, would it not act as a grounding probe and trip the GFCI?
