You had 800 Watts on one plug?

Just a suggestion for some of you guys, I use a relay to power my chiller because I don't want the AQT Powerstrip to be hit with all that load. I will post a diagram in a seperate thread.

Something occured to me about all these wierd little problems that are happening with some people powerstrips and controllers, I wonder if it's not caused by some salt water getting into the units? How close do you have the plugs to the water, how Humid is that area? Why I ask is that I have seen these kind of things happen when circuit boards get wet or start to rust.

If you do have your powerstrip near the Sump I suggest you move it to a 100% dry area ASAP and dont use your controller with wet hands, that plastic covering will not protect the insides 100% of the time.

Is 800 watts too much for the aquatronica to handle on one outlet? It is a dual ballast with only one plug so if it can't handle my lights and it can't give me accurate salinity readings what can it do? I thought I should add that the Lighthouse controller had no problems with my ballast.

Build that relay on my other thread. Reason I did it that way in the first place was because of some posts I read in the Neptune forum, were people seemed to be having problems if they put too high a load on a single power bar outlet. The relay will handle up to 1200 watts.

Alright I'll order the Expansion Socket from Digital Aquatics, it's only 42 dollars and I won't end up killing myself or burning my house down trying to make your relay.

I just thought I would mention.

This weekend 2 Aquatronica engineers have come from Italy. They are giving me a course to properly learn how to program the controller. They are also teaching me a few troubleshooting techniques.

I am also going to be sitting down with them to talk about all these issues. They are very eager to get things straightened and off the boards. As soon as we told Aquatronica that we were not happy with some of the issues we are seeing, they sent 2 people to help go through the issues with us and teach me more.

I may not have a hard answer for everything by Tuesday (when they leave) but, I will post what I can to keep you all in the loop. Realistically speaking. From the amount of units we have sold over the past year, the issues that are showing up on these boards are few, but, unacceptable. We are doing the best we can to make everyone happy and keep things under control.

To answer any questions about replacement. We have them ready to be picked up by courier. They will be at your doors next week. Aquatronica has changes the way they package the units and had to go through every one of them to make sure everyone has there listed materials.

Again, thank you everyone for your patience.

TheMoneyPit,

I can't assure that the probe will not get rust on it. The engineers and I talked about this issue tonight. This is the only probe that requires weekly maintenance, bi-weekly at the very least. The probe needs to be cleaned of any algae and debris. All they will tell me is that they are very upset that this is happening and taking the steps necessary to correct it.

Thats all the information I have right now. I will keep you updated.

Thanks ron. also on my level sensor program it is having an error and locking my auto topoff program. I am reloading the firmware reseting the controller didn't fix it.

Do you have a maximum time set on that level sensor?
It will always lock if the level remains active past the set time.

Eg. For my RO I use a solenoid that is turned on by a program on my level sensor, I have a maximum time set of 180 seconds, if by that point the water level has not risen enough to move the level sensor then the AQT locks the program. It's a good idea to make sure you set a limit, that way the RO water cannot end up running for hours and flooding your tank with FW.

I have been following this for months now, I am ready to buy.
Who is giving the best deal on the whole package?

It was saying somthing about an error with the level program and then locking it. I have it turn on on level 1 and off on level 2 with a 20 sec max. After reloading the firmware it seams to be okay but it is too soon to tell. It has worked fine for a few weeks prior to this.

So if it is on level one for over 20 Sec it will lock the level program, if the unit should move back to level one while the program is locked you will get a Program error. You can go in the menu and unlock the level sensor. This is normal operation, is that what is happening?

Not really I would unlock it and the level 1 sensor alarm would go off and then it would say there was a programe error. I reset the controller and it was having the same problem. only reloading the firmware seamed to fix it. Anyone know when the new firmware will be out?

I hope they have put in a lot of time on it to fix some of these bugs. Once all of the bugs are worked out it will be really good. It is a great controller but some of the bgs are a PITA.

I really hope so. After 6 months waiting to get my Aquacontroller to work, I really need to get this resolved.
