Aquatronica

Got back yesterday from a lovely little trip with the family, we toured through Florida and had a good time. Of course I had to stop at a few Aquarium stores along the way ;) and had a great time meeting up with my friends at Exotic Aquariums in Miami. I also had to go out and see Big Al's new store, they claim it's the largest in the World! I Just have to say the place is Fantastic, it' huge! The shark tank was stunning, and so where the Prices. If you like to pay 50% more for everything then Big Al's is the place to shop. In fairness I must give them high praises for the look of the store and the health of the Fish. I do believe they had the overall healthiest fish I have seen in an LFS.

In regards to the AQ I did some checking around and the pictures and description on AO's site is basically the jist of what is in the PDF files I was given. I dont see any need to upload the files as you get 90% of the info on AO. The only document that may be more in depth is the Multimeter, but I dont think that people who already own a AQ are going to be getting the multimeter.

Anyway time to unpack some goodies I got :)

If the Aquatronica delivers ethernet before Neptune delivers the expansion box, I am in....

Either way, I am glad to see the development is continuing :)

It's just mind bogling what Aquatronica is doing, I had no idea about Water leakage sensor and Dimming modules until a few day's ago. The guy that decided to go with USB on the AQ should be given a medal, it makes everything else on the market look so limited.

Dimming is built into the Elos. And water leakage alarms have been around for years. Mind blowing, not, but nice additions.

I don't mean the devices themselves are mind Bogling, I meant the fact that AQ is coming out with all this stuff so quickly is mind bogling!
Just a few months ago we only thought that Ethernet was being developed then out of the blue we see all these other products.
What other controller is producing hardware addons and software features at this rate?

Psyrie-

I believe it meters multiple things. :)

(Sorry, couldn't resist).

Per the press release I saw, it was a portable tester for PH, Temp, TDS, etc. Kinda a hand-held testing device that's redundant to the Aquatronica itself. (Assuming this is the piece I read about.....)

Still not sure if it "Docks" with the main unit, can be used for other purposes like monitoring other tanks, change water, etc....

Oldmpala thats pretty much how I read it also. It's like ALL the PinPoint testers built into one. The bad part is your going to have to buy each module and probe for each thing you want to read. Of course if you have an AQ already this unit really serves no purpose

Will had a brochure for this new Multimeter when I was at the shop this week. I'll ask him about it and see if he can get it in a PDF to post on the site.

Robby, you are correct, it doesn't seem to serve much purpose for the person with an Aquatronica Controller, but it might be good for someone who just wants to monitor. I don't think there is pricing for this new unit yet.

KaBoom I have the PDF file but it's massive, I did not see any real new info in it, it's still very vague.

Pysire did you have any new info on the Salinity probe tests. You mentioned that you had found a way to make it work better?

I'm currently looking at this unit and wondering if I can use my pinpoint ph probe with it. Can I?

Yes you can but you need the PH Interface module. I use a Pinpoint probe for my CA Reactor.

Any word on when the new modules will be available here in the U.S.? Also, are there any plans to redesign the salinity probe? I'm thinking about buying another controller and I liked the Aquatronica, except for the rusty probe issue.

Aquatronica presents its new products to the general public.
There are new Aquatronica products available; the latest evolution in the Aquarium Controller System.

Important new utility management features have been introduced to a number of the new products:
- ACTIVE HUB integrates existing connectors onto multi-outlets: so you can connect more Aquatronica accessories to the Aquarium Controller System;
- the GSM MODULE allows you to remote control your aquarium by simply using a mobile phone;
- using a remote LAN or browser connection, the ETHERNET MODULE allows you to manage your aquarium over Internet.

Some products make it easier to manage other useful features:
- DOSING PUMPS meter liquid substances according to the data provided by the electrodes connected to the system: this constantly guarantees water biological balance;
- the 240 mV CALIBRATION SOLUTION allows the redox electrode to be calibrated correctly.

MULTITESTER has brought about a small-scale revolution.
Created for small aquariums which need the same care and management as larger ones, MULTITESTER Aquatronica is an electronic device (it can be reprogrammed from a PC) which reads all the most important aquarium values (Temperature, pH, Redox, Salinity, Conductivity, Level): two at a time (thanks to 2 USB connections).

Visit our products section to discover each of the new products from the world of Aquatronica or ask marketing@aquatronica.com for further information.

did anyone notice this about the dosing pump?

"Aquatronica dosing pumps also administer substances on the basis of data provided by the electrodes connected to the system; this innovative function allows you to automatically correct the water biological balance. There are also 3 optional connectors which in future will allow stirring systems to be connected to the module; this will allow the metering of semi liquid substances (which would tend to deposit)."

can you say kalc reactor?
