Besides the price the piece looks tiny. Look how big it is next to the substrate it is in. Also the right side of the base does not look so heathy.

That bid history looks sketchy to me... why would someone out-bid themselves by $100? I don't know how that stuff works, never done it myself, but seems odd.

FWIW I know a couple of retailers bringing in some nice colonies soon...

Usually, as with eBay, if you outbid someone the price increases to some incremental amount above the previous bid. If you place a bid that is not higher than the previous bid, then the price of the auction increases to your bid price. You do not know how much someone has bid on an item until you try to outbid them. So, in a bid history, you may see what looks like someone outbidding themselves several times over. However, what is really happening is someone else is failing to outbid that person.

I believe them to be more hardy than sun coral under the right conditions.

I still think that price is outrageous though
