Fortunate in deed!

Back in the "good old days" when we had snow in the winter, clear nights and people didn't have "web alerts" causing droves of people to head out when Aurora activity is up. Used to be so peaceful, now I can hardly stand going the places I used to go .

Isn't that the truth. I know a lot of people are reluctant to post bird sightings on line as not only do a ton of people show up to see the birds, but also to bait, harass etc. in the case of owls. At least I guess you have some incentive to go and try and find some new spots... I'm pretty amazed at how surrounded by city my new place is, and the small woodlot behind us seems to be left alone much more than I expected. Right now it probably helps that there is two feet of snow and its been in the -20's C, which makes moving around in there not very enjoyable.
