Are Bi-color Foxfaces Reefsafe??

I have SPS, Zoos, Rics and Shrooms. I have hair algae that my Yellow tang is not damaging. I want to put a foxface in there but want to know if anyone had any success with them in a reef tank similiar to mine and if they did help with the hair algae. I would hate for it to stat munching on my zoos, rics and sps.

I am looking to purchase the bicolor foxface (standard).

Thanks in advance

My understanding is that all of the Foxfaces are reef safe.

If you are talking about the Foxface Lo (half yellow/half black), I believe there are several reefers around who keep them in there mixed reefs (and Rod realy likes them for algae controll).

FYI - If you want a different color than yellow there is another pretty common one, the Magnificent Foxface, that is Grey/Black and white with some red along the fins.

Hope that helps.

Your talking about LO USPI Fox.
They are great taking care most unwanted algae........I grab one for ya!

I also like the lo uspi. Shouldnt be hard to find at all. Pretty common fish. The magnificant is also pretty cool, but not quite as easy to find.

Menard, Is there a foxface that stays relatively small? I have a 54 gallon that could use a good algae eater. I only have a few small fish in there right now. 2 chromis, midas blenny and 2 wrasse (lubbock, and pinstripe that I don't think will be getting any bigger they are both 1+ years old) or am I at my limit?

Menard keep me posted. I will out of town all next week returning on August 20th, so you have some time. Menard try to get a small to medium sized one. under 5" if possible.

Thanks
