Are mexican turbo's nocturnal?

it seems mine moves a few inches at night and then stays more or less in the same spot all day. kinda sucks i was hoping he'd be the algae mowing monster everyone said he would be or maybe its nocturnal and im not seeing any of the action idk? its only been a week so i cant tell if its made a dent in the algae yet

How long have you had it, usually when I get one that behaves like that It dies (happens very rarely), how much algae do you have, if you have one big patch it might be taking a while. Mine like to spend a whole day in relatively the same spot... Unless I put seaweed in.

same, my 2 turbos(not sure if mexican or whatnot) move almost as much during the day as they do at night, except for when the big one got himself stuck between a rock and the glass. But they both definitely eat during the day.
