Are my fishes too fat

and you have a fish and invert qt. I like the rack style setup.

Thanks, well its a den and i didn't want a bulky wall unit, i rather like a mad scientist look, actually its a Star Trek Borg Theme with the black pipes, wires and green lights, lol.

^ This... You mentioned Julian Sprung but the pictures you showed didn't look very JS like

No the one i showed were from a health store, where you get specialised foods, or natural foods, not GNC but the local health ones. People with allergies go there to make sure its 100% natural. For grains, or natural honey or things like that, bulk peanut butter, and such. Usually they sell dried algaes natural, if it says snack it has additives. It has to be indicated ingredient; dried algaes , thats it. No additives. Its also cheaper than fish stores. I pay about $8 for each pack, but each leaf lasts a week, so if i have 20 leaves in there.... lol.

The sheets you mentioned looks like the ones you can also find at the asian markets too. I tried it a long time ago but my fishes never took to it. I might try it again and see.

Yes i use to be able to find them in the asian market . But its been contaminated with brand name that adds all kinds of stuff to it , becarefull with that. Maybe that one reason your fish didn't take to it. Also not all fish like those. Of 10 diffrent i found 6 kind are liked by all, but some eat only 2 and then other will touch only one kind, it depends thats why i feed multiple food every day in case , varety is important, remember not all fish comes from the same area and eat or have the same profile. So by feeding different foods you get them to eat, but your CUC is so important here. Lots of layers, your day time CUC night time CUC, sand sifters, window washers, detritus is different than extra bits and pieces, etc . make sure you have enough to do this kind of feeding. And my refugium can handle a huge amount of nitrates its a 75 gallons display refugium. with 25 species of macroalgaes. That count for some filtration plus i have sponges that helps for my filtration they do my tank volume in 24 hours. 1 cubic cm filter 25 gallons of water in 24 hours, i have enough sponge matter to do that.

Fat fish are good as long as you are able to cope with any extra nutrients. I'd say fish health comes first over any aesthetic problems with algae etc.

And i do my water change no more no less than everybody else, and phosphate in my case i need some for my macroalgae collection otherwise i loose them, 0.03 ppm is ok for a macroalgae tank of my size , and i need more of other nutrients, so my reeftank is mostly softies it makes a better combination and complimentary system. My Octopus 3000 takes the slack, because sometime ago i had problem and its was my water, it was too clean, my algaes and coral didn't have enough nutrients , the skimmers combine with my reactors were taking everything out. Nothing left for the algaes nor the corals, so balance is key. Now my system is thriving without over doing and over cleaning. Since then my sand is now alive with worms and critters crabs and all kinds of munchers that i use to take out with weekly stupidity, my sand was dead. So now its teaming with life. And helps with my filtration.

I don't know. All i know is when an animal stops eating something is usually not right. But i have no expertise on that particular for fish. Sorry. Thanks for your interest.
