Arlin's 60Gallon cube

I like your custom sump.
is your top off water reservoir in that custom sump, or do you have another container for that.

Thanks guys. the sump builder is a super cool guy, i basically told him what i wanted and he did just that. & no the reservoir is not included in there due to a limited space. :)

Good luck on the cube! I have the 70g. version of this tank...really should have a warning level regarding the amount of patience it takes getting anything to fit together properly...they're well worth the effort though...defintely really look into the LEDs, this tank looks criminal with them.

I don't see your top off reservoir.
I know the downside of 60 cube is the limited cabinet space. I have a 60 cube as well so I'm looking for ideas how to setup the reservoir. I currently use a small sump, taking up half the cabinet space. Wish I had it bigger like your setup. I've seen one witha custom sump with the top off reservoir built in as a compartment in the custom sump.

Thanks..Yeah space is tight and it will take some organizing skills . My biggest thing was "hide the cables" and make it as easy as posible for weekly maintenance. So far so good. The LEDs are my biggest inner debate.. I would truly love LEDs ...but I'm not sure if they will provide enough for growth vs mh & t5's hich are proven long term success :/ . But in the other hand they will cost more in The long run due to bulb changes and electric bill. Soo that's where I stand lol And not for nothing the only LEDs I would be willing to try are AI and they are not cheap to gamble on. LoL u see where my problem is ?? :D

I currently have it in a 5gallon bucket Next to the tank. But I'm talking to my sump builder to build me a reservoir ;) so that's like the movies comming soon. Lol

I have a 10g tank as my sump and a 5 g tank next to it which my ATO draws from. Id love to have a bigger sump but this set up works well, the sock keeps almost all bubbles out. all enclosed in my cabinet, the only thing you see is the wire from my RK2

Yep, just had that debate with myself recently...I have clams in a nano right now that I'm going to transfer to the 70, so I need high light...Vertex LED won...the tank evaporates like crazy even before I had light on it, can't imagine what would happen with halide heat. Are you going to get the canopy for it? The canopy flows well on the skinnier ones (60g&93g)...my 70 is only 48" it looked awkward with the canopy option.

Thanks med. I've been checking ur thread out, u also have a good unusual scape and I know it's hard to come with something like that with the limited space that we have w/ these cubes. Here's to our unusual scape  :D

I too have just started the same 65g cube 24x24x24. Big downgrade from my last reef, but in the new house it's all I have room for. Just starting my build now. POst pics later. I made a custom stand/cabinet, as my skimmer would never fit under the tank. Should have room for all the bells and whistles I want to add.
Will post a pic in a bit of the progress so far.

Here is the rough cabinets and tank as they are now.

up date: 7th week.

today i worked on my very sexy 6 bulb Ati dimable PM. its finally installed!

and i also started the ecobak pellets :)

pictures coming 2morrow.

Here is my 60 ML cube. It's been up about 2 weeks. I transferred over from a 39gal Cadlights tank.

I agree, aquascaping is VERY difficult in a cube. I just recently added a large, maricultured piece of acro on top of the "mound" to give some hight. I really wanted a "bonsai" type aquascape but still ended up with a mountain of rock. Oh well, ya win some ya lose some.
