A G3 would skim the snot out of a 90. it would be a good choice, espeically if you are keeping SPS.

Does anyone have a pic or link to a recirced G3 with the pump mounted vertically? Do you need to support the pump? Will it tip the G3 over? From what I've read several people have suggestion have the input with a 90 angle on it to flow the water around the skimmer instead of just straight in. Is that still the best way or is there a better way I haven't seen yet?

so should i got with the g3 or g2?

For the small difference in price you get a large increase in performance. Unless you can't fit a G3, there isn't much reason to get the G2.

when i get my parts, i plan on playing around with both a 90 and a 45 degree angle to see what produces better. Cause a direct/straight in flow doesn't really seem to.. sit well while compared to an angled in flow. I see you feel the same way, MJ.

How does that wok for you, Charlie? Is the swirl of bubbles consistant? I'm not sure which brand/model but i notice on them that they have either a 45 or 90 on their outputs to their RC

What is the optimal water depth for my G3 to be sitting in? I think it's around 10" now in my sump.

6-10". Mine is in 10" as well.

Can anyone tell me where to find the grey pvc 90 and pipe that is used on the sedra 9000 that is used on the G-4x?

My Lowes carries it.

This one?
In this style of pvc fittings, my Lowes on carries them down to 1-1/2". This one is a 1" long radius pvc 90.
I'd like to replace the one that came with my skimmer. The pipe is just about 1/2" too short with therecirc mod. It fits in, but not real good. I could use a standard 1" pvc 90, but the pump would lose a small amount of flow with the shorter radius 90.
The 90 and piece of pipe the I got with the skimmer are glued together.
