I have been reading through this monster thread becuase I am going to be getting 1 or 2 ASM G4 Plus's for my 240 gallon FOWLR tank I am setting up....
I've been specifically looking for water height of the sump that the skimmer will be placed in..
it seems 6-9 inches is ideal from what I have read....
my question is, is there a way in the sump to have your skimmer compartment at 6-9 inches but yet make the refugium compartment higher to say 12 inches or so..... i want to maximize the volume in my refugium but not at the cost of less skimmer efficiency.......
i am sure there is a way but i can't draw it out in my head....

No worries, I ordered one a week ago with overnight shipping. I received an e-mail a day later saying:
"We usually ship with 48-72 hours"
It's been almost a week and I haven't received an e-mail stating that they've shipped it yet. I also left a few messages with ER's "Order Placement / Order Tracking Dept." but they haven't returned my calls yet.![]()

I think my impellar has worn out on the sedra pump there is a lot of play between the impellar and the housing
therefore causing the pump not to move as much water
any other sugestion s before I order a new one??

I recently lowered the hole for my direct feed mod on my G3. I initially put it about 1 1/2" below the cone, as shown on the ASM site. I drilled a new hole the same height as the original hole (that recieves output from the sedra), attached the feed from my overflow, and capped the old hole.
I now get much less turbulence in the neck area, and much darker, thicker skimmate!
Thanks Charlie Davidson for recommending this! (several pages back!)

Is it the pump or the air line that is making the noise? You can make a noise muffler for the air line. If it's the pump, you may want to take the pump apart to see if the shaft was set correctly in the rubber pieces at each end.Originally posted by yoboyjdizz
