Assistance with Calcium Reactor

I had bought an old Deltec reactor from a young and avid reefer who lived in Boca many years back but never set it up. Wondering what's your advice to learning about how to use a calcium reactor making sure I have everything I need or if I need new parts because it's been sitting in my sump for about 4 years unused. I'm guessing a need new gauge on CO2 tank because it's all rusted.

Best advice anyone can give you is get an Aquarium Plants regulator. It will make your life with a reactor a million times easier.

Thanks, what's special about the Aquarium plants regulator vs. all the others? Also, can I change the regulator myself or do I need to take it to the CO2 refill place?

Thank you reefsahoy! It doesn't seem that difficult overall but will take a deep dive and read in a little bit.
Do you use one?

fyi, when i used co2 regulators, i found that they fail relatively frequent, having to replace them about once every 1 to 2 years.

Thanks Marvin, I'd love to but weekend is pretty booked up between Honey Do's and daughter obligations. THe price I have to pay to have their tolerance for my reef addiction.

I understand. I'm in lauderhill anytime you want to check it out. Just got my co2 resistant tubing and this is this weekends tank project my reactor has been off since I tested my whole tank. I'm itching to get it back online.

Hey guys, finally got my CarbonDoser today and setup the Calcium reactor with ReefKeeper as the controller based on the PH in the reactor.

Silly question: Is the media in the reactor supposed to be tumbling? I looked at it and it's all flat. Pump is running but not sure what it's supposed to look like in there.

Gonna go back and read documentation and articles provided.
