ATI Powermodule Hybrid Club

Good luck! It took me over 2 weeks to get them to finally send me a new box. I hope you have better luck than me and get one quicker. Have not been terribly pleased with ATI support thus far and I've had the lamp only 5 weeks.

Is that ATI USA or ATI Germany? I've had my unit for 1.5 years now and is working perfectly. I think maybe the response/support in Europe for getting replacement parts is faster because of location.

I know in UK we can get replacement parts fast/easy.

I've never experienced the frozen controller. But if it doesnt reset after 24 hours plus, try connecting everything together, turn on controller and press and hold the outer 4 buttons till you hear a click.

Then reset to factory settings within controller.

Hopefully that will resolve the frozen issue etc.

Anyone have any news on the new Web based Control? Last I heard it is a retrofit kit that goes on the controller. If the price is good I'd like to get one to try out what it can do.

I'm thinking of getting an Apex later in the year and depending on how the web based controller performs will be contributing factor on whether I get the Apex.

I contacted ATI USA who then had to wait for ATI Germany to verify the issue I was having and then authorize a swap. That took forever. In this day and age of email why would it take 2+ weeks to realize a brand new unit is bad and get it fixed or swapped out. And this is not a $200 light! Guess I got stuck with one of the few bad ones. Comparably IMO Pacific Sun which is also based put of Europe has far better support and service.

well, service desert Germany :fun2:

to the last email response I waited 3 months

Just as an update - I finally called instead of emailing and spoke with Samuel directly. He walked through some other possibilities with me, and finally concluded that the box was bad.

They're sending me a new one (should be here Thursday) and I'll send mine back when I get it (charged my card until they receive the box).

Overall, great experience, and Samuel was great to work with. I'm happy with how they handled it.

Interesting! I called and emailed Sam too and he had to wait for ATI Germany to auth the swap.

Scratches on acrylic cover

Scratches on acrylic cover

When I received the lamp I noticed there were several small but deep scratches on the acrylic cover to the length of the unit in the middle where the screws are. This was also noticed by the LFS rep who was installing the unit. We took pictures of this and sent to ATI. However, Sam at ATI claims that all units have this defect from the screw housing causing the scratch. Wondering if this is true since I find it really hard to believe. How can a light be built with that defect and not be fixed by the manufacturer. The scratch is unsightly and a blemish on an otherwise good looking fixture. Can any of you let me know if you had a similar defect? I'm really getting annoyed with ATI's service here and the way they treat their customer.

I have a 10x54w older unit from ati im trying to figure out the fan issue I had Samuel send me all new fans with connectors. When I plug in everything the fans still don't turn on. Why? Is there something wrong with the wiring internally? I don't own the light with a display panel on the outside this light is 5 years old.

Thanks got it fixed flipped the plug around for some odd reason the plug indicates a + sign and wire a - sign and I had the wire and plug lined up + + - - I don't know why but when I swapped them it was + -, + - ??? The fans came on...I was a little confused but good to go.

Hello -

Does anyone know if the light software is Mac compatible? If not, is it easy to program the lights with the built in controller? Thanks.

I have been following this thread for a couple months now and I'm excited to say my Powermodule arrives today. I ordered the 8x 54w and 3x 75w 48" Powermodule. I intend on keeping sps and zoas/polyps. I like a pleasant blue color but not a crazy dark blue color, more importantly i want what's good for my corals, to bring out and make their colors pop. Sahin, I'm hoping you can help me with a bulb and led configuration.

For T5 combo:
3xBlue+
3xCoral+
2xTrue Actinic

For LED peak config:
Royal Blue=255
Blue=100
White=120
Red=10

Increase White LED to 165 if you want it a bit more white. Or replace one of the Coral+ with an ABS tube and stick the ABS tube as middle as possible in the combo.

Intensity of LED's will depend on your corals and nutrient level etc. Eg lately I've had to reduce the time of hours for the peak period because corals lightened a little due to decreasing nutrients.
