I had this issue as well. Issue was a faulty controller box. After much hassle I finally got a replacement controller box and the issue was fixed.

That will be my next option. I would rather avoid a warranty claim however if possible and hope it will be an easy fix. I'm just worried because I have no idea what I'll find when I open the box. ATI support mentioned that changing the relay is a simple procedure but haven't found anything on this on the forums or the web so far .
I suppose I will find out soon enough once the replacement relay arrives but any help by someone who has already worked on the insides of the box would be great.

Got my ATI 4-bulb Powermodule this week. Getting ready for installation over the weekend, however, noticed that one of the grip-locks on the fixture is stuck. Won't let me thread the cable through it, the pin is stuck and does not move up and down freely. Bummer

Really amazed at the quality control on these plus $1000 devices.

Is there an easy fix for this, or do I need to wait for ATI to ship me a replacement?

So do the bulbs come with the hybrid powermodule? Are they included in the price and do you just tell them.what bulbs you want?

Given the blue and royal blue leds do give corals the pop in colour, do we still need an ati actinic bulb in the mix, or are we better off going with one more blue plus?

OK. My corals responded pretty poorly to the short burst of 50% LED power. Peak lasted for 1 hour mid-day. I was running it on 255 RB and 255 B and like 30 White and 5 Red. However my T5 cycle was relatively short a 6 hours.

Having a lot more success now running T5's for at least 8 hours, no big LED peak, short morning and dusk peak of RB ONLY for 1 hour.

I think I fixed that issue..maybe bad bulbs. But now, my power box seems to be malfunctioning. The LED display screen is lit; though, blank and all the bulbs seem like they are trying to fire back on but will not. arg! worried corals wont make it through holiday weekend.

It sort of does defeat the purpose. With 8 T5's running, that alone is a lot of light. Let alone three 75w LED chips. My acropora just haven't responded well to the LEDs at higher power. I had good success with 7 T5's and XHO Reefbrites. At the lower power on the Powermodule I am essentially replicating the Reefbrite blues.

If you ran all actinics or had a really deep tank I think you could push over 50% for the better part of the light cycle, otherwise I don't see how you avoid frying your corals.

I have no actinic now but last year ran 1 actinic bulb and saw no difference.

Logzor I have the 4x24 and I recently upped the Led to blues at 65% and whites to around 18%. This intensity lasts for about an hour but they run around 40% intensity for about 5 hours. So far so good. That being said if I had the 8 bulb I might not be able to get away with this. To be honest I've wondered if I woukd be better off at times with an 8 bulb sunpower. I wish ATI would take the time to do something similar to what ecotech did and come up with recommended percentages and profiles based on what the aquariast is keeping. I think we all end up tinkering with the leds too much. Can anyone else share some updated profiles they are having success with?

This fixture is on my shortlist for a 300 build (gallons, not movie, however awesome that would be). What revisions has the hybrid had since introduction?

Me too! Took a bunch of macros today so I can keep track of how things are progressing. I really think my red bushy coral is already improving. Nearly all my corals have some brown areas that are lacking in colorful zoox so I'm gonna keep a careful eye on those areas to see if I notice any changes . . .

Anyone here with the 8x24 powermodule hybrid have insight into whether the LED clusters are enough to provide meaningful shimmer / color alteration?

I'm concerned that the 8 24W bulbs will overpower the LEDs and get rid of any potential shimmer. But at the same time, I won't want to blast the LEDs to get shimmer because the LEDs might bleach some of the corals.

Comments/thoughts anyone?

What is enough shimmer to one person won't be nearly enough for another. I have an 8 bulb unit. If you are hoping someone will tell you that you can have the shimmer of a tank full of kessils from this unit you will never hear that. The more bulbs you go on this unit the less that shimmer is going to stand out. You will see some very faint amounts of shimmer but no it will not jump out at you like an all LED lit tank will.

The thing that makes T5 lighting so great is its diffusion. It's also something that limits one of the pros of the LED lighting which is the aesthetic appeal such as shimmer effect. It's very hard to have both without sacrificing something important.
