ATI Powermodule Hybrid Club

I have 3 B+ and 1 P+ for the dusk dawn and then my daylight bulbs for the last 4. I also use royal blue LEDs for an even earlier dusk/dawn.

Right now I have

Front
B+
B+
P+
B+
LED
GE6500
B+
B+ (was P+)
B+
Back

But that was because I removed another P+ that had issues.

I've decided to go

Front
B+
B+
C+
B+
LED
P+
C+
B+
B+

All of my SPS are down the center of my tank, so I was thinking to have the B+'s on the outside four bulbs for the dusk/ dawn with the LED's on RB/b in the middle during that time.

Hi there, I changed to 3xBlue+ and 3x Coral+ and then using 2 Actinics on the front and back. I felt like there was too much light with 4BLue+ and 4Coral+.

I had a slightly used set of Actinics lying around decided to use them.

I use the Royal Blue LED's as dusk/dawn, then the inner 4 T5's come on, and half an hour or so later, the other 4 T5's come on, they switch off in the same fashion, ending the light cycles with the Royal Blues dimming down to zero at 10.30pm.

Alright I recieved my 8 bulb fixture and thid is what's un mind for a heavy sps tank wana be .
Before I place order need sugestions ?

Thats a good combo IMO. 4xBlue+, 2xCoral+, 1xPurple+ and 1xActinic along with the LED's IMO covers the spectrum very well.

I ended up taking out my purple plus and subbed it with an actinic I also needed to turn down the LEDs to 70% as they were starting to bleach a few corals.

My combo now is

B
A
LEDs
A
B

I'm running coral plus with my leds at peak time for 4 hours so I'm hoping that I'm getting full spectrum. Even though the actinics don't have much par, I feel there is still ample par with the rest of the t5 and LEDs. We will see

I like it. the only difference in the way mine will be is that I don't have any actinic + bulbs, so I'm going to use a B+ in the middle

I could have get away with 4 bulbs fixture and wanted something atleast 6 bulb combo which hybrid don't have and that's the reason went with 8 bulb with ease of adjusting bulb combo. Also I haven't opened the fxiture yet and I am not familiar with the settings as if now . The 8 bulb combo I posted was based on my assumption that middle two bulbs are on one channel and wanted to hve a nice actinic sunrise and sun set feel for the tank. Most of the time they will be off . Also as I said I don't the settings or the software yet untill I plug in and start playing bulb placement may change .
Its kinda hard when u have all gear and can't set it up . My tank was delivered and I am just waiting for my house to be ready so I can light it up

The middle 4 bulbs are on one channel and the outer 4 are on the other.

Looks like in 48" long fixture channels are little bit different , in my channel #1 are 1-2-5-6 and channel #2 3-4-7-8.

I been switching bulbs 2 weeks and finally got what I like:

ATI Blue +
ATI Purple +
ATI Blue +
ATI Coral +
Led
ATI Coral +
ATI Blue +
ATI Purple +
ATI Blue +

My friend are running KZ bulbs and I think the light quality is better than ATI so next order KZ.

Can you share how the KZ tubes are better? Not disputing you, just wish to be educated. :)

In the UK the KZ tubes are usually quite a bit more expensive than ATI.

This is the first time I have ever heard this. I'm at the point where I won't even buy a bulb other than ATI....with that said, I have never used a KZ bulb

One thing for anyone who bought one of these and has never used LED's, turn them WAY down at the beginning. These fixtures are very, very bright. in most tanks the T-5's are enough light, the LED's are great for shimmer, but you have to be very careful with them or they will blast your corals.

Well I like the price of ATI bulbs but the blue plus color is blurry, makes water "milky" under KZ superblue water clarity is totally different... And I like it better, maybe for people who has black background is less difference but my background is painted blue and I see difference.
There's many people running KZ bulbs...

Here is pic of my tank from December 2011
Under FaunaMatin 10x54w starphire fixture with fallowing bulb combination:

ATI aqua blue special

Only 4 KZ bulbs made difference for me, is time to change bulbs in my hybrid fixture now I run these about 10 months ;) so I'll grab KZ.

I've emailed them a couple times. Same answer both times. Not now.

I did just email then again today, too.

Wonder if we need to engage the neptune crowd to help us out?

I posted a question on neptunes forum about the apex control. Will let you all know if I hear anything.
