ATI Powermodule Hybrid Club

Cool thanks for taking the time to do your review on this. Great info.

My biggest complaint is that with the 4 bulb unit, the front two bulbs are on one ballast and the back two are on their own. Not a huge deal but I'd much rather see this:

1
2
LED
1
2

Right now it is

1
1
LED
2
2

That is total nitpicking though because I use the LEDs for dusk/dawn now anyways.

Best looking light in person I have ever seen. I've never seen the mitras but I've seen just about all of the other led and t5 lights out and the ATI blows them all away by far.

No I don't think its nitpickn it just makes better sense to spread lights out on ballasts so you can run a dusk dawn lighting and have it spread out. I wonder how an 8 bulb is wired if its wired like the sunpowers?

I believe someone said it is the inner 4 and outer 4.

Rod? Mark?

just got my light and slogging through the programming. wanted to confirm. the us 80W t5s are not dimmable, correct? on the program, you would just go 0-100 for the time on and off?

Agreed. This is the one slip ATI made on the four bulb. I'm going to rewire mine once it's out of the warranty period or sooner. Can't stand it.

I want the two outer bulbs on one channel and the two inner on the other. What's the point of dimming them if I am forced to dim essentially the same bulbs (running two aquablue plus and two blue plus). I'd like to dim the whites and/or blue T5s independently.

But overall it's a fabulous fixture. Just one slip up. And only on the 24" fixture.

Rod? Mark?

that is correct. i ended up putting my blue+/purple+ combo on the outer 4 and my daylight bulbs on the inside. now i need to figure out a way to hang it. I assume it weighs the same as the old powermodule so I think i can just use the existing hooks for my pm...anyone know anything to the contrary?

This light is awesome. I will be getting one after the holidays for my upcoming buidl, 36 x 24" x 18" tall. Leaning towards the 24" 4 bulb led/t5 fixture, what would you guys suggest for a bulb combo?

honestly, i don't think the bulb combo matters since the leds are able to simulate most of the bulb colors.

personally, i selected the t5s to complement colors i find lacking in most leds (the purple+/ge colors).

BTW, I've noticed people say the fans are very quiet. I think I must have a fan that's sticking because it is very, very loud. any ideas? took a peak and it looks like the noise is mainly coming from the fan over the led3 cluster. I don't see any screws that can be loosened.

Pull the aluminum housing up off of the fan with a pair of needle nose pliers or something like them.

This is what I am trying to figure out right now. Do I want a T5 combo that I like individually or do I put as much spectrum in the T5s as I can and fine tune with the LEDs?

My thought is to run something like 2 Actinic and 2 Coral Plus to cover the full range and then blue up the LEDs to pop colors....this is a whole new ballgame. :celeb1: I had the LEDs set to Coral Plus yesterday and it really popped some reds and pinks that the T5s miss. It will take me a few days to really make everything perfect for me.

A question for everyone though.....

I brought my controller to my computer yesterday and set up a whole schedule. I plugged the controller back up to the lamp and thought it was running the program. When I got home late last night, it was running the default program with moonlights on.

What did I do wrong? Why didn't my schedule save? The software really needs a tutorial IMO.

I'm gonna run 3 blue plus and a coral plus.

I have two blue plus and two aquablue special running right now. I've turned the LEDs down quite a bit, as I'm really trying to acclimate the coral in the tank. With the royal blues and blues up and the whites and reds only up a little I don't care for the color when the t5 bulbs get close to 100%

That won't damage anything?

Ryan,
may be the blind leading the blind but I think what you have to do is "save to lamp" to load your new program into the lamp. It will go 0-100% and then should work.

I've got 3 b+ and a P+ coming on first (outer 4) and then a ge, coral+ and 2 b+ coming on after. I thought about going pure actinic initially but like the color combo so far, though my middle 2 leds are off right now until i get the fan fixed.

Just the small piece of aluminum that is right over the fans. Mine was pushed down a bit and rubbing on the fans making them super loud. It doesn't take much to pull them off of the fan.

cool, i'll try that. anyone have a good custom setting to simulate a b+/p+ dusk/dawn?

Just received my 24" fixture - ran it through demo mode to make sure everything is working properly and the fan over the LED cluster does not turn on - I checked to see if the grid was pressed down and it looks fine, I took a small screw driver and the fan spins freely.

The fan over the LED cluster is suppose to turn on during demo mode right?

Now what?

I don't think so. It is controlled by the thermostat and only turns on once the LEDs hit a certain temp.

I could definitely be wrong though.
