ATI Powermodule Hybrid Club

What kind of Led ATI use in these fixture ?
Thanks, I know it's white, blue, royal blue and red....but I don't know if they are Cree or Osram.
Thanks

Has anyone managed to programme lightning effect? I know its only a gimmick, but its nice to show off to people LOL.

Rodney, since you have access to a Spectrometer...can you please do one favour:

Here is the Spectral Output for the Radium 20K bulb:

Having 8 T5 tube locations and the 4 channel LED's, I am sure we can work out a combo of T5 tubes and a specific combo of setting for the LED's to mimic that spectral plot of the Radium bulb.

We wont get it exactly right, but with 8 tubes and the 4 channel LED's we should be able to get it pretty close to the spectral signature of the Radium 20K bulb.

Any chance you can play around with tube combos and LED settings to get us something close to that spectral chart?

I have the following tubes:
GE 6.5K
ATI Coral plus
ATI Blue Plus
ATI Purple Plus
ATI AquaBlue Special
ATI True Actinic (420nm)

Those tubes along with the 4 channel LED should be able to generate a similar spectral signature.

Would be awesome if you could do this for us. If I could have got hold of a Spectrometer I would have done this ages ago.

Thanks.

Caught!

I was trying to surprise everyone on UltimateReef who are following my thread...what you doing here...:lmao:

Waiting for the 8x24watt LED Powermodule to arrive...I'm like a kid hoping its the delivery guy every time someone knocks on the door LOL.

I know its a lot of light, but I will run the T5's dimmed slightly; I will get better coverage this way and the tubes should last a little longer. Main reason is that When I get my next tank which is going to be a large cube this light will be just fine. :)

With respect to the Radium Spectrum, yeah I wish I had access to a spectrometer to play with some tubes and get the closest spectrum to the Radium as possible using the T5's and LED's.

The Radium "20K" bulb (250w and 400w versions) are full spectrum with a big peak in the blue area. I've seen some of the best SPS colours under these bulbs....hence why I would like to attempt replication of its spectrum.

Received my light!!! BOOM!!! :smokin: This thing is a SMOKING HOT SEXY LOOKING UNIT!

I have the following new tubes:
4 x Blue+
3 x Coral+
1 x Purple+

Should be nice 20K look with the LED's. :inlove:

Need to go out now...but when I come back, I will be spending the night with new light... Wife will be lonely tonight! :lmao:

Isn't it? This light is build like German car. :)

Seriously it is one sexy unit! My friends have Radions, AI Sols etc...I've even seen the Giesemann Futura in person and had it demoed to me... I own the ATI Sunpower...

But none come close to how this thing looks. Expect photos very soon. Will take a few days to swap over but I will post photos of the unit over the tank soon.

I'm waiting for Ryan's programming tutorial :)

Really love this light. Been slowly ramping up the LEDs and T5s. After about a week I'm up to 30 minutes at 100% for everything, 8 hours of all the t5s on and 10 hours of just 4 t5s on. Would like to eventually get to 3 hours of peak lighting in the early evening.

Would love to figure out a way to mimic the radium look. That's still the gold standard IMO.

Here is my build thread with some pictures.

Well, as promised here are some pics from today. (Sorry about the cell phone quality and my lack of skill. For some reason the camera picks up a lot of purple that isn't there in real life.) :wildone:

One day I will have someone come over who knows what they are doing with a camera! Thanks for looking everyone!

I'm very interested in this light. I have the 6x54 dimmable sunpower now and might switch to the hybrid. Seems like everyone has the 8 bulb fixture. Does anyone have the 4 bulb? If so, what bulb combo are you running alongside the led's? I ask because I think the 8 bulb would be overkill on my tank that is only 18" front/back. Also, do you get a nice shimmer from the led's even if the T5's are running at 100%?

I run the 4 bulb and right now have 2 blue plus, 1 actinic and 1 lagoon blue. I'll be changing the lagoon blue though to a purple plus.

The LEDs shimmer very nicely with the T5s on. It looks awesome!

OH man! This might be a must have:)

My tank is 20inches front to back. The 8 tube version is 20.5inches...so for your tank, the light unit would overhang and be lighting up the floor...

I got the 8 tube because I have LOTS of SPS and some even 2 inches away from the front glass. Also I plan to upgrade to a 93G cube next year...so the light is really for my next tank.

I'd say a 4tube with the LED's is equivalent to a 6tube. I was thinking of the 4 tube at first but decided to get 8tube because of the reasons above.

I'd say 4 tube will be fine. But, if you are looking to upgrade any time soon, get the 8 tube...but it will spill light like crazy on your current tank.

Looks very nice dude. Those LPS look happy, but is that acro very pale or is it the light levels causing it to look like that?

I'll take a look at your thread again later Ryan. Please keep it updated with photos and document any changes.

I've always like either the ATI Purple+ to be present in whatever combo of T5's I've used.

How is the Lagoon blue like? Is it just similar to the ATI ABSpecial but with a bit more cyan/green?

Unfortunately the acro is pretty pale right now. It all started with the LEDs and then a failed tank upgrade. I literally had my Sunpower sitting on my tank for a few months and it just survived but didn't do much. Since this tank upgrade/swap it is getting greens back in it and the polyps are a bright green that the camera doesn't pick up. I have started dosing amino acids and feeding my fish more to "dirty" up my water. With only one fish currently, 't there aren't many nutrients going into the water.

I am hoping to get a decent HOB Skimmer and start dosing some Zeo products. I currently use the Nano Pack and love it. I really like Sponge Power and Amino Acids LPS.

I didn't put it next to an ABS but had it right next to a Coral Plus so I could see the colors side by side. The Lagoon Blue is really a mix of the Gmann Actinic Plus and Gmann Aquablue. It lacks the red that the Coral Plus has. For someone that wants a little more blue than the Aquablue bulbs, it will provide that. I don't love it though for a 4 bulb combo.
