ATI Powermodule Hybrid Club

How about some pics Not too many pics on this thread of tanks running these lights.

I was already running a custom ATI Sunpower LED/T5. So for me, the colours are the same. I have of course greater PAR and coverage, as well as the dimming of the T5's and LED's.

Search my username for my thread. It contains a bunch of photos running T5+LED hybrid.

You will see why I have got this rather than going full LED etc. This light is awesome! :D

My build thread also has pictures. I will be updating those this week hopefully.

14" of snow on Saturday really hindered my weekend!

I get my 60" 4 bulb unit tomorrow I'm super pumped. I'm a little nervous about hanging the unit. Any tips?

Any acclimation tips? I already run 3 kessils so the corals are used to LEDs

Hi everybody,

I've been missing in action but am pleased to say ATI Hybrid is going strong. I will be changing my light settings and swapping two tubes around in the following days so I'll report back with the changes and hopefully some pics too.

Sahin, Thank you for the youtube link to the ATI Hybrid unit advertisement. Also... great job making the video tutorial on youtube!! It will help thousands of people!!

Lubeck, the 60" is heavy and you might need x3 people to install it like I did. Enjoy!

If I wanted to buy an ATI Hybrid LED/T5 fixture, where can I buy one online in the USA?

Have a look at Reefgeek as well. I've used Premium Aquatics even though I live in the UK and liked their service.

You will love the light.

Make sure you have strong hanging brackets. These LED Powermodules are heavy. I had to buy new stronger brackets when I got my 8x24w LED PM. It is much heavier compared to the Sunpower.

I posted a Youtube tutorial link a page back I think. Check it out if you get stuck with the software.

I would advise you burn the T5 tubes at least 40 hours. Dont run the LED's during this time. If you run the T5's about 6.5 hours a day for 6 days, you will have burned them in. After that start utilising the LED's. The combined T5+LED have very high PAR.

Premium aquatics
Yup, they have good service.

Please do post some photos. Also we would be grateful if you can post your T5 combo, and it will be extremely useful to many people if you can share your latest light profile with us. You can email it to me, and I can share it out, as I know you are busy. A few people have asked for your light profile.

Yeah it was pretty cool to see the one and only world famous SPS tank on the ATI promotional video. I hope my tutorial helps others.

Good advice, these units are pretty heavy due to the Aluminium heatsink. So make sure you get help.

I have a quick question. Recieved me ati hybrid 24" 8 bulb fixture . I can't hang this fixture from 25' high ceiling. Any sleek ideas how to install this over my tank and lord this fixture is heavy

I have the same fixture, and yes it is heavy.

Post up a photo of your tank/stand showing the wall etc.- will be easier to come up with ideas.

Here is what I used:

I bought strong white bookshelf bracket set. I can adjust the height and also tie the cables onto the wall mount with white cable ties. This worked out well for me. Looks fairly clean as well.

i bought brackets from eztube.com
i got the steel 1inch tubing and cut to size(12ft) mounted on the back of my stand
they have steel or aluminum.
aluminum is not strong enough to hold the fixture
Great fixture!! worth every $$ i spent on it

if you need i can upload pics

I got the unit. It's very nice. I wish I could have it hung tomorrow. I already put the bulbs in and have created a program to start with. I'm really digging the software. Just wish it was wireless. Hopefully by Saturday it will be up and running. I'm surprised they don't have an actinic preset for the LEDs ?

Bulbs go:
B
A
Led
P
B

Custom 2 is all royal blue I believe. You can't create an exact actinic with the LEDs because there aren't any Violet LEDs. I would love to see some however!

Thats a nice bulb combo. I bought a 5meter USB extension lead and just use that to connect to my laptop.

I wish the unit had some form of wireless connection too. I guess that it something we need to ask ATI to come up with.

Its easy to make a custom preset. You can use the Royal Blue Channel at 255, add a tiny little red at 5, a little blue at 10. Looks sweet. Or use just the Royal Blue at 255. The Actinic T5 tubes do have small spikes in the yellow, green or even some red depending on which brand you get.

Need help with mounting brackets. I didn't receive any instructions. Can someone walk me through this? I want to get this bad boy up and running

Can you chain units together or have a master/slave setup with these units? Or do they all operate independently if using more than one.

Question:

I am heavily thinking about purchasing a 24" fixture for my 30 gallon rimless SPS reef. I assume I should get the 8 bulb instead of the 4 bulb or will the 4 bulb be enough?

I have never used T5s before but I have used LEDs on several of my tanks.

I will also need help with a bulb color combination.

Thanks guys and gals

I have a four bulb on my 60g tank and it's way more than enough. I've bleached SPS on the sand with it.
