ATI Powermodule Hybrid Club

Quick question. Do you feel that the fans on the T5s are louder than the original T5 Powermodule? I feel that they are well noisier and after a few months are not getting any quieter. This is just fan noise and not rubbing on guard etc.

Here a few photos from today you can see what the hybrid is doing with the corals the colars and te grow is great.
The led is now on 45%.

I have no experience with the T5 Powermodule, but I can say that the fan is louder than the fan that was on my Mitras. I notice it the most when I'm one foot away from the tank, any further and I don't even hear it.

Wesley, nice tank!

Hello all,

Im doing some research for my future 225 build. It will be a 72 x 30 x 24 tank. I have only owened Radions as of now and think I have narrowed down my new tank set up to T5/LED combos. I am leaning towards this ATI hybrid or possibly a Pacific Sun Pandora but thinking the ATI though.

My question is what sized fixture will be suitable for my tank and how many bulbs should I get?

I will be keeping mostly SPS with a few LPS mixed in. Im trying to limit the heat transfered into my tank so please dont tell me to get an 8 bulb fixture if that is overkill and will only add to the heat and electricity produced. Im trying to cool the tank with only small fans that i currently have and my homes ambient temp. I dont want a chiller.

I was hoping they would have a 6 bulb option but looks like its either 4 or 8. So does that mean ill have to go with an 8 and is that really going to put that much extra heat into the tank? I keep my house at 77 and with my Radions now maintain a temp of 79-79.5

Hey guys been out of the hobby for awhile, but I'm getting back into it soon. I'm trying to decide on my lighting, but can't decide on full LEDs or T5/LEDs. My tank will be SPS dominate with some LPS and clams. I had T5s on my last tank and loved it, but have to admit LEDs just sound interesting. So my question is on a 70 gal tank 36"Lx24"Hx18"W which model would work best for me. Thanks for your help.

I am getting confused when I try to price these fixtures out. Is there a ATI Powermodule and a Powermodule hybrid? Are they 2 separate units? The reason I ask is because on ATI's website they only list it as a powermodule. For a 60" unit they only list that a 4 or an 8 bulb set up is all that is available. I looked for their vendor list and Vividaquariums is a vendor. So i went on their website to see how much they are. They show that you can get a 60" powermodule w/ 4, 6, 8, or 10 bulbs and do not mention anything about LEDs.

So what gives? Why dont things seem to be matching up?

If that is not the same LED/T5 fixture that you all have then where do i find a retailer online that sells them?

ClownsRCoo, I'd definitely go for the 60" unit with the 8 bulbs. Check out Premium Aquatics, Aquarium Specialty, Reef Geek, or Champion Lighting. They will have the Led Hybrid and pricing.

If you go to the ATI North America website, click on products and you'll see the LED PowerModule.

Volcome698, my tank has the exact dimensions and I've been running the 36" Hybrid 4 bulb unit since February and coverage is perfect. Go with the ATI Hybrid, you'll be glad you did.

Imarkspeed, if your tank is SPS dominant, go for the 48" Hybrid with 4 bulbs. You'll have to keep the LED power turned down because the PAR these fixtures put out is insane.

Ok thanks reef rocker. I saw you had GHL Mitras on your tank which is the other light I was looking at. Just curious if you liked them or what made you change from your all LED system? Like I said I'm still in the building stage, so doing my research, but I loved my T5 system I had up before.

Don't underestimate the power of the LED hybrid fixture. For reference, my tank was getting 400 par at the sand bed when everything was turned up to 100%.

I gave the ghl mitras 1 year to truly impress me and to help my acros maintain their color and I don't feel that one fixture over my tank was enough light. Ever since putting the ATI hybrid over my tank, I have noticed more growth within 3 months of having the hybrid compared to 1 year of having the Mitras.

Ok thanks for your help that's what I was looking for.

Yes, first there was a Powermodule with only T5 tubes. Powermodule Hybrid is a different newer model.

The reason I ask is because on ATI's website they only list it as a powermodule.
No there are separate pages:

Maybe that vendor doesn't have the new products in stock yet.

Do you guys think a 48" 8bulb x54 ati fixture is to much for a 48x18x24 rimless tank? Getting tired of my LEDs need change

If your tank is only 18" front to back then the 8 bulb would over hang 1" on either side , as the 8 bulb is 20.4" wide. That would be a lot of light spilling out the front and back. If its 24" and 18" tall then the 8 bulb would work fine.

Hi, I am interested in this type of screen, now I have an ATI PowerModule screen controlled by Profilux 3 Ultimate. I wonder what results are providing these hybrid screens to keep a mixed reef and size recommend being my aquarium of these measures:

140cms long x 60 cm wide x 60cms high.

And sorry for my English, I live in Spain ...

regards:wave:

Just got my lights set up last night, holy cow they are bright. sahin, Rodney, +others can you send me a copy of your light program? I'm using the default program now....

Hi Sebas!

Go with the 8x54+3x75 fixture like me. I get more than 1000 umol PAR readings just on the top of the water and 500 umol on the sand.
I have to dim it (T5 100% and leds 30%) not to burn my across in a reef a bit deeper than yours.

Just peeked A 36" 4 bulb two cluster fixture on demo mode at my LFS. Very sleek and great colors.

A couple of gripes however
1. Only comes in silver, not a biggie, just a gripe
2. The cord out the side bothers me. I guess more of us run peninsula's? Don't understand that one.

Hi guys,

i have 48" 8 tubes fixtures and some trouble on sps under led pads..

i find the right way maybe one months ago in according to some friends that have same trouble of bleaching the upper part of corals and darkening the lower side..

i shut off completely the reds, lowered white on 20% and pushing up only RB to 90% and blues to 60%... i talked with ATI engineers in interzoo that confirm this way to have good result on hard kind of sps..

i put some pics of my corals.. (tank is very young 8 months and results are bad now..) the tubes i use are 4 AQUASCIENCE DUO and 4 FM ULTRA ROYAL BLUE

My tank is 55x32x24 and for me the coverage is not great i need another 4 tubes fixture to cover all ...or.. changing this to two 6x54 new powermodule fixtures...what do you think?? i ever hate leds..and try this was a bet..
