ATI Powermodule Hybrid Club

Well, there's been some thought that when corals get a lot of red light, they stop growing since it's a trigger that they're close to the water's surface.

However, it's also one of the most active spectra in photosynthesis, so I think there's a balance. Those guys growing tons of coral with 6500k MH certainly had success. Maybe it's something to do with the balance of red spectra to the rest?

I'm pretty sure that mh 6500 is a thing and a 600 nm led is another..led have no spectrum but only a narrow selected bandwith.. Red leds in my opinion can used a little only to push up visible hot color in tank..green amber and fantasy color like those are only for our eyes and not for corals.. I do some experiment with t5 in past .. Some pocilloporas and stylophora stay well under warm light like we can find in nature but acroporas and deep coral suffer.. Is my two cents..

Well, lights in and overall I like it. Wish I had a PAR meter though. Still have some tweaking to do but to the eye the tank is dimmer than my old set up. I went from a 4 bulb overdriven t5 setup directly on the rim of a 75 Gal to the 4 bulb 3 LED hybrid suspended over a 120. I'm at about 10 inches I think now.

Current T5's are 1 AB special, 2 AB+ and 1 Purple +. To my eye the tank looks dimmer. I'm running the T5's at 100% and the LEDS at 50%. All I have done with the LEDS is move the bulb on the graph for on or off. I have not tweaked the colors.

My plan in to have some SPS up high one one side of the tank so I need to up the light there. Overall I think I could use a little more light in the entire tank. I just set the tank up though so I'm giving it a couple of days to see what how the coral do. I'll try and attach my current settings. I'm reaching out to you gurus as to my best options and suggestions. Change T5's, change ratios or LEDS, just up the LEDs, what say you?

Okay, can't upload the file so here's a screen shot.

Most people like KZ bulbs better then ATI and better PAR

Is ATI C+ similar to KZ NEW GEN and ATI B+ similar to KZ Super Blue?

I'm not sure. About the coral plus.but I believe the kz super blue would be the same as the blue plus. The coral plus is a combination of blue plus, aqua blue special, and 10%-20% purple plus

KZ superblue is more crispier and without a green tint that I see in ATI blue+. Again, it is just my perception. I switched all my ATI blue to KZ superblue and like it a lot better.

We fired up a lot of bulbs in one fixture yesterday.

There is not much between the blue tubes from each company. They looked identical to me. I don't know if there is anything more in the FM Royal blue tube?.

Other tubes

ATI Spectra+= Giesemann Lagoon Blue= Pac Sun Spectra+. These were slighty bluer than the white tubes below.

White: ATI Aquablue Special= KZ New Gen= Pac Sun Shallow Water.

Red/ Pink. KZ Fiji purple is slightly whiter/ brighter than ATI Purple plus ( slightly bluer)= Pac Sun Pigment Int.
