ATI Powermodule Hybrid Club

Thanks AhmedLFC for sharing your profile light.

I have made one provisional. I have 100% since the T5 lighting for burning. Currently LED modules are 25% I the question of raise the percentage of LEDs and therefore ask the profiles of their lights.

I hope their experiences in the percentages of the LEDs modules.

Greetings.

Hi!!

My rimless tank measures 47"L x 23"w x 20"d and is running for two years now with 2 radions first generation. I have got pretty good growth but I am not very happy with my sps colors. Now I plan to turn into a sps dominant tank, and I have an opportunity to get a second hand Ati PM Hybrid 2x75 leds + 4x39 T5. Is it enough light for my tank? Am I going to get dark areas in the sides?

Also, does this first generation fixture change the led cluster yet or the newer ones come with the same cluster?

Thanks!!

I think it's borderline. Your tank is shallow, but I'd be more worried about the spread over the width. You may be able to lift it a bit more than normal, and your tank looks like most of the corals are in the middle section anyway.

I would definitely get the 48". My rimless tank has almost exact same dimension as your and I measure my 48" unit with a par meter. The light output drop off pretty fast at the ends. Note that t5 does not produce the same amount of par along the length.

Sorry, misundertood earlier.

I run tube 1,3, 6 and 8 for around 9 hours and 2,4 5 and 7 for 5 hours. My nutrients are fairly low now.

I actually re-wired my LED Powermodule. :eek2:

ATI set it with channel 1 having 1,2,7 and 8 and channel 2 as 3, 4, 5 and 6.

I re-wired to distribute channel 1 and channel 2 tubes are split more evenly. Love it now. :)
Interesting. You did it yourself? What it hard?

Did it myself. Requires re-wiring 4 of the 8 T5 tubes. Also requires using a Dremel to make small cuts in the internal aluminium enclosure to re-route the wires on the non corded side. And requires CAREFUL loosening of the main cord so that the wires could be accessed on that side.

I took a few pics during the modification. I can post if you like. I much prefer the T5's like this. My warranty has run out now so I have modified it. Previously I modified a brand new Sunpower and made a Hybrid Sunpower a few years ago.

I wouldnt go messing with it if you arent familiar with DIY/basic Electrics and knowledge of ATI Sunpowers and Powermodules...The Powermodules are crazy packed tight internally and if you screw something up it is a LOT of work to put it right...Plus the LED Hybrid versions have extra electronics/circuit boards etc etc that can easily get damaged.

Planning switch from 4 bulb to 8 bulb

Planning switch from 4 bulb to 8 bulb

I'm planning a switch from 4 bulb PacSun Pandora S to a 8 bulb LED ATI Powermodule. Reason is I'm moving from a 100G to a 200G wider tank. Was wondering if I should start with 8 bulbs off the bat or start with 4 bulbs for 1-2 months and then add the next 4 bulbs to allow the corals time to acclimatize?

My planned bulb combo for 8 bulbs is:
B+
B+
C+
Purple
Actinic
B+
B+
B+

If I do start with 4 bulbs which combo from above should I use. It will be a hybrid tank to start with but eventually SPS dominated.

Just run all 8 tubes from the start with no LED's. Run the 8 tubes for around 5 hours and increase by 30 mins a day until you are around 7-8 hours. At which point introduce the LED's slowly. If at any point you notice the corals becoming pale, raise the lights or reduce the light hours.

PS: Do NOT underestimate this light; even if you had 100% LED's before; the combined performance of ATI's Powermodule and LED's make your fixture a PAR monster.

I presently run a hybrid LED/T5 so is it ok to run LEDs on low from the start?

I have spent hours on the forum trying to determine the best type of lighting for my 65 gallon lps/sps reef and am trying to decide if this is the answer. My tank has been set up for 15 months with AI Hydra led's. My water parameters are right where they should be. My issue is that the colors and growth of the sps's don't seem to compare with the tank in my LFS. They have purchased frags from their tank and mine never compare to the mother colony. I am now thinking that maybe its the lighting. Can you please give me some insight as to the impact that you have had by using this t5/led unit vs just led. Is this the way to go or should I switch to plain T5's or stick with my hydras? My tank is 36x20x20 so if you feel that this unit is the way to go, which size would you recommend? thanks

You are moving from 4 tube to an 8 tube fixture, hence I suggested LED's off at the start. If you want to run the LED's from the start, then do so, but be careful not to bleach your corals.

What is the exact problem with your SPS? Are they pale? Brown? Do they turn brown in your tank after a week or two?

My buddy has AI Hydra 52's and has great colours.

Does anyone run this fixture inside a canopy? Just wondering if I ventilated a canopy very well if it would be ok in there.

If the cooling/air ventilation is adequate, then you could run it inside a canopy...but if the ventilation system/fans fail you risk damaging your unit.

Can you cut out the top of the canopy? Or most of it so the air can rise unrestricted? That way, you can keep the "surround" and cut out most of the "top" and be able to use the light fixture safely.

Thanks sahin

I have had numereos corals turn brown or basically lose their color. My biggest concern is the lack of growth and vibrant coloring. Some of my corals were large frags from an LFS so I can see the great difference in the coloring. In some cases there is almost no growth on the frag (for months) while the mother colony has expolded. I have tested the water from my LFS and it compares relatively closely with mine. I have a 900 gph return pump plus 2 MP10's in a 3 foot tank. It doesn't seem like the flow is an issue so it kind of leads mne to lighting. I have been afraid to really ramp up the LED's so as not to bleach them. Mu crrent reading for blues is about 75% white 25, red green UV >20.. Was hopoing that the t5's might be the answer. My lps's (low in the tank) by the way do really fine.

Hi.

I dont think buying a new fixture will solve your problem. Sure, I think the ATI LED PM is a great light...but you've already spent a lot of money on the AI's. The thing is, I know they work...I've seen the results myself in my buddys large tank...In fact if I were to recommend 100% LED; AI Hydra 52 and Radion Pro's are what I would recommend.

Generally, the larger a coral is, the faster it grows. Frags can sometimes sit still for MONTHS not really doing much; photos taken every two week will show that actually, some growth is taking place.

As for the browning out; how old is your tank?

My buddies with Radions and Hydras typically channels as follows: Royal Blue and Blue at 100%, UV around 80%, whites around 40-45% during peak and Red and Green around 60% during peak. OVERALL intensity is around 65%

How is your parameters? Have you checked for pests? Are you feeding the tank well enough?

quick question i have 30gal cube 12x24x24 since last august and my corals are not growing, some have colors some don't just pale looking ..have only two small fish but i feed the sps every other day,,,,the water is ok since day one 1.026, cal-420,kh-7,potassium- 400,magnesium- 1400 ,No3-0.2,phosphate 0.02, so just wondering if the lights are too strong or not enough....? 10" AWL___ thank you
