ATI Powermodule Hybrid Club

How quiet or loud are the fans on the new Powermodule LED lights? Where can I find out specifications of these fixtures (weight, length of cord, etc.)?

the new fixture seems pretty darn quiet. I was working on the set up and didn't even realize they were all on. I wasn't more than a foot away.

Same with mine. It's mid-summer here so I assume they are running at full steam and it's barely audible from straight in front of the tank.

Oops just started a new thread didn't realize this was here so I guess I'll re-ask it here.

I'm looking at getting a powermodule but am just a bit confused. Can someone clarify if the WiFi version and non WiFi version have the same led clusters? On BRS the non-WiFi version is almost $300 less. I guess my next question would be if I do buy the non WiFi version and the clusters are different can I upgrade them at a later date?

Why wouldn't you just buy the new one? The wifi control is so much easier to work with and the cost and hassle of upgrading would be more than $300 in value. The new light is awesome

Orcus the SST V2 which is the previous generation has a different LED Cluster vs the WiFi version. The WiFi Powermodule has a UV where the RED used to be in the SST V2.

And as others have stated, sound is rarely ever a problem or complaint, unless the metal fan cover gets pressed in against the fan which can make a pretty awful sound.

Keith thank you for the reply. I was also looking a scratch and dent on the ati website. If I purchased that light how long does it take to ship out? I'm moving next Saturday and want to know where to ship it

Have any of you powermodule owners had a sunpower plus reefbrites to compare the look to? I'm on the fence between these two options.

Are the royal blue LEDs pretty strong?

not even close, i had the sunpower with reefbrites(front and back) before the hybrid.
i know it's that much more, but it's that much nicer. go wireless if that still in your budget.

So all exterior aesthetics aside (obviously the sunpower+reefbrites looks clunky), the actual LEDs are that much better on the powermodule?

I have the 8 bulb hybrid with Reefbrite LEDs on the sides. The LEDs on the Powermodule are gorgeous, but the HXO Actinics really balance out the "pop" from side to middle, since the spread on the LEDs aren't the widest, unless the light is quite high off the tank.

Personally, I like watching the tank with just the actinics and the Royal blue/violet/ and a little blue. The colour is incredible.

Great info. appreciate the comments.

If I had to do it over, I'd go with reefbrites. They really make the corals pop more so than the integrated LEDS.

What bulb combinations are you all running in the 4 lamp WiFi version. I was thinking:

Blue+
Coral+
Led
Purple+
Blue+

I like it very much. It's a very crisp white with just a hint of blue. The leds are set to blue plus setting.
