ATI T5 Lighting Fixture

Sorry, yeah, you are right. According to Fauna-Marin, the OSRAM tested highest, then the V-S which they have used in the past.

thanks hahn. what about bulb chice if i purchase the fauna hoods i will have to get the bulbs they sell. are they any good? would hate to have to buy 12 bulbs right off the bat.

thanks again.......... scott

Wow, good info going on in here. You all are jackals!!!! I mean that in the best way. That 12 bulb fixture looks sweet, but they do need to put fans in there and the reflectors look more puny than the SLS reflectors.

Mrpet, if you buy a fixture why would you have to get the bulbs they sell? That sounds like another marketing gimic from that company. I see a bunch of people running around bumping the fauna marin bulbs, however, they are all ultralith/zeo users that have fell victim to the marketing gimics of that company. Dont become one of those that believes everything THAT company throws at you. If i were you and you could ONLY use their bulbs, I wouldnt buy that fixture just out of spite. OK, go ahead and flame now.

I would'nt buy the unit either if I could only use their bulbs. What if their company folds and no longer sells the bulbs? Then you're stuck with a fixture that can't use any bulbs on the market because no one will buy it off you.

Their pricing includes lamps, why wouldn't you take them? They seem to be the same lamps as Giesemanns with diffrent labels.

Make sure which "15"k lamps you get. It looks like Aquascience has 2, the special which based on the output plot sems to be more of a sun lamp and a duo which would be the Aquablue.

"The Bubble Master 200's will be available in the next few days and the 8x54W Powermodules should be available in February or March."

That was from greg from Reefgeek.

still waiting. when i ordered i was told anywhere from feb to late march...or beyond. In my last contact with greg (about 10 days ago) he said he guesses late march but has heard no updates from ati.

Dimming?

Dimming?

In the pictures, I see only one power cord on the ATI T5 fixture. Is it possible to place timers on the fixture for dawn-to-dusk lighting as you can on a Tek T5?

Is the dimming module manually controlled or programmable?

It has multiple power cords. They are ran into a box and routed into a single cord that runs to the fixture from there. You get the independand ballast and fan control but only a single cord to look at running to the fixture

Dimming Module

Thanks, Grim.

The Singapore Reef Club reviewer states: "I just bought a new fully dimmable ATI Powermodule (4ft x 10 tubes) for my new tank. In order to dim the tubes, you need an external hardware, for example Aquatronica with dimmable module (coming soon)." (http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=49314&st=195)

Any details on the dimming feature and the external controllers required?
