My wife got a new Olympus stylus 1030SW for her birthday. It is waterproof shockproof and crushproof. Pretty cool camera. Anyway I was able to take some videos of my tanks.

As you will see in the videos, the first tank is my arch enemy I cannot for the life of me get my water to clear not matter what I do. I am going to empty it and start over soon. The others don't have the same problem.

Anyway here is my first video I put together, nothing special

Here is another video I took showing the underwater capabilities of this camera. Ok I didn't really need to do this but it was fun.

Hope you enjoy.

Had about 40 deaths last night. Almost all of the bodies still have large pink stomachs. I think my problem was I added way to many bbs (not on purpose) and I noticed today that there are a lot of maturing brine shrimp in the tank. I remember reading in Wilkerson's book that the older brine shrimp can be sharp and damage the internal organs of the larvae. I am going to have to be more careful on how many I add.

I should have a healthy rotifer population by next time so maybe I will stick to the tried and tested formula. ;) However it is good to know that when rotifers run low and small amount of bbs may pull you through in a pinch.

I still have probably 40-50.

FB; cool videos & camera boy oh boy you were not kidding about having a whole bunch of little mouths to feed. They sure look cool though and i can see what you mean about the baseball size grouping.

On the ones that you lost last night is that from the group that were getting the bbs real early? I also remember reading that in the book; that if the brine are to big that the larvae can be damaged by trying to eat them. So do you think it was that you added to many or that they were just not quite ready for the bbs.

I have another tank upstairs with about 150 or so in it as well. I don't know if there will be a market for all these fish but we will see.

The camera is pretty cool and can't wait to go snorkeling with it, whenever that will be since my wife is expecting another baby in September.

I am pretty sure they were lost because the brine shrimp left in the tank are to large for them and they are being damaged internally. They are day 5 now so they would be on bbs anyway at this point.

Just sold another 31 fish. Although I have not yet received money or anything else for any of them yet, in total 36.

Sweet; so did they go to a lfs?
Is there a reefclub where you are at? If so maybe you could try and setup a group buy or something just a thought.

Yes they went to the same store that took the previous 5. In all the store still owes me for all of 36 fish. I took them by a big als and they all but laughed at me. Mind you they were all the fish that the other store didn't want and were smaller.

Anway probably be another couple of weeks before I get some large enough to sell.

My wife keeps reminding me that I have yet to see a penny yet!

Interesting and good to know in case of a pinch i guess. I wonder if the development of the larvae will be any faster than what you have seen before.

Day 6 (I think) and most have started Met. No head stirpes yet but I have about 40 left so certainly not as good as with rots. I have two really good rot cultures on the go but still no new eggs. However they were actively cleaning tonight.

Day 7 and I have 5 with the start of the first stripe and 1 with with a whole head stripe this morning. Others are very close.

FB; thanks for the update. even though the outcome may not have been as good as when the rot's were used it's still nice to know (at least i think) that if needed it can somewhat work.

I know you have not received any cash from the store yet but do you mind if i ask what price you sold them for?

What was previously discussed was $10.00 / fish.

The owner of the store was not there when I brought them in and one of his employees called him to ask him if he wanted them. So the employee picked them out. I just called him to make sure he was happy with what the employee had picked out. He is having is wholesaler come over to his store to check my fish out. He said the wholesaler is really interested in my fish. Anyway he is considering buying me a couple of different kinds of clowns for me to try and breed for him. LOL He has a pair of false that always lay eggs. I told him to put a tile down and try and get them to spawn on the tile and I would come pic the eggs up before they hatch. He said he would try it.

I am out of the food that I have been feeding and was thinking of ordering some otohime. I know a couple of people here are using it. I would love to hear your comments. How long does it last, how much do you feed etc.

Thanks

I feed just a couple of pinches per tank in the morning and late evening. Feeding B2 to the 60 day olds, C1 to 80 day olds. As for the fish, they love the stuff. It's like a feeding frenzy to get their fill. I also tried GP, the fish preferred Otohime. So a 3oz. package of Otohime should last a while.

I am feeding A to my youngest (20 day olds). I only fed BBS once with 0 losses! I'm going to go up to B1 or 2 The others are all on B2 in growout and they love it. I need to source some C1.

I was able to get some great pics of my clowns spawning tonight.

All photos were taken with a Nikon D40 with 18-55 mm lens
