Another update
The 5 that are at 3 months are doing great. I can't believe the growth rates now.
I have about 25 in a 10 gallon. This is a mix of the the 32 day old batch and the 20 day old batch. Most of them are 32 days the 20 day old have not done well. For some reason these don't seem to interested in BBS anymore. I thought they were eating it but many look skinny and was losing 1 or 2 a day for the past three days.
I was also feeding frozen Daphnia, I have been unable to find Otohime locally and shipping stuff from the US to Canada is not cost effective with brokerage charges to clear customs. These also seem interested in my homemade food, so I will continue with that.
I have about 30-40 @ day 7. They are eating bbs and rotifers.
Overall I'm still not to happy with my results.
Should I be running carbon in my growout tanks?

I just transfered a new batch into the larvae tank to hatch tonight and got some pics.

Can you believe I counted over 600 eggs. I would not believe it if I didn't count them myself. Now I feel like a real idiot for only getting 20/batch.

That's a great picture. I just had a hatch tonight and mine had more of a silver color to them. What camera are you using to get those pictures??? Nice!

Had a 100% hatch last night. They all had big bellies this morning. I put a ton of rotifers in the tank and they had a full day to take hold in the tank.
Unfortunately the wife wants to go away for the long weekend and I don't have anybody who knows what they are doing to watch them. So most will probably die unless the rotifers can outpace the larvae. Someone will be coming by to top off and feed the larger fish but feeding rotifers is not something they can really do. I really am going to have to find someone who lives near me who could help me out!

I should have never read this thread, now I am thinking about getting a pair and seeing if I can do the same. It sounds like a great experience, thanks for the info and pics.
I don't see many posts about this topic, do you know if clowns are the easiest to raise? (lol, not that it is easy) I was looking into a pair of Banggai Cardinals.

Not the day after I mentioned something about misbars on your thread do I see the possiblilty of mine having a misbar. I just noticed my 2 week old batch may have a little bit of a misbar on the top of their heads. The gap is very small and it may work itself out as they grow not really sure. I did however notice that it coinsides with the exact location of the bar when I did my last water change. I have never really done a water change on previous batchs until they had at least two bars. I was able to keep ammonia @ 0 until then. This batch I just did a water change even though my ammonia was zero to see if it helped them out a little.
I wonder if the water change could have stunted their growth for a bit or something. It is really wierd because it's almost like the waterchange is timestamped on their heads :eek1:
