Anyone who owns, breeds, sells or in anyway has an affiliation with exotic animals should be aware that Congress is proposing House resolution 669- which will make it illegal to breed and sell many animals that are in the pet trade.
This includes virtually all the fish keep, as well as coral. No importation!
Also affected are most all pet birds, reptiles and basically any exotic pet.
There is a hearing on HR669 scheduled for April 23rd-
Please go to www.nohr669.com and make your feeling known.
This could greatly affect our hobby- and many of the species already banned from import would be illegal to propagate at home as well-so as many of you know, some species would be extinct if all captive reproductive programs were banned.
Please spread the word to any exotic pet owners you may know-
Go to the above site and also let your state Representatives know that you oppose HR669 and outline the negative effects it will have on you and our hobby-but most importantly- those endangered species which are being sustained in captivity.
