OK everyone, I was there tonight. I bought a couple of corals from them and here is the low down on the store.

Creative Aquatics was sold to Jimmy Forsythe and is now known as The Fish Doctor

Jimmy is in the process of renovating the store. He is changing a few things around. I do understand his reasoning but much of it doesn't affect me. He is adding in a bunch of Freshwater tanks and redoing alot of what was there, including some of the saltwater. He took a few of the small, side, salt tanks out and some other stuff (I am not sure what was in them to begin with) out as well. He is trying to ramp it up.

The main coral tank is still in place and still has the same pricing structure in place which he said he is going to leave. Woo Hoo. This was one thing I loved about this store and am glad it stays in place. All of the salt fish tanks were clearly marked. If there were multiple tanks with the same things in them, you might get only one with a price, but it was there. He is definately trying to expand and that is a good thing. I imagine the fresh expansion is to try and generate some revenue to be able to really do the other things properly. Some of this is my speculation.

He has expanded hours, no I do not know exactly what they are. I know tonight he was open until 8, and the other day when I called at 2 something, he was open. Tonight, he was PACKED and busy. I stood there for quite awhile waiting for him to finish up with other customers. This was of my choice, his brother offered to help, but I wanted to talk to Jimmy himself. That and I was busy looking around to see what they had changed.

I talked to him about our club and he is all for it. He said he didn't mind me pitching it, so I did. There were two people there that seemed like perfect candidates for the club and I gave them my email. We talked about putting up a flyer in the store and he is for that as well. He is excited to see and hear of a club in the area. He knows its a win win for everyone. I really didn't have much time to talk details with him as he was just plain busy. I will try and make a point of going in there when I feel he will be slow and I have a few more things to discuss. Alot of that we as a club will need to iron out in the next meeting or two.

So far it looks very promising for us as a community. The store will continue and hopefully flourish. He is in the process of deciding what to do about location. For now, he is there where it has always been. He talked a little about a move but most of that depends on his present landlord and what they come up with for his lease. As of now, its a go where it is. Mark
