Attn: Deep Water Acro Owners?

I noticed that to majority of the deep water acro's posted in the "deep water acro pics" thread do not have much polyp extension. Have those of you who have jaq and cardus (or any dw acro) noticed this to be the case? I just acquired a couple and I'm concerned about the lack of PE.

Thanks
Scot

Seems to be the case..

I have a small frag of some unknown Deep Water Acro, and i have it placed mid tank. Color is great, and PE is minimal compared to my other colonies.

Maybe someone has some scientific explanation for this...

my $0.02

actually, I've seen some amazing polyp extension from my carduus, but very minimal from any jacquelinaes or most other deepwaters

I don't know if this applies but I found after keeping some angels, the corals open at night for protection.

Good news for me!

actually, I've seen some amazing polyp extension from my carduus ..... i agree with organism... mine do the same

Bad news for me. My carduus (sp) shows less than the jaq. Hopefully they'll adjust to my tank.

just at night

That's wierd. The little that mine show are strictly during the day.

My A.jaquelinae has crazy polyp extensions; but that is an exception I think.

Feeding time for the coral

Well, I'm not an expert so I suppose that is possible. Here is my carduus

Topdown

Fullview of the A.jaquelinae

ah, I might have been wrong, that full view looks more jacquelinaeish, whatever it is that's some amazing polyp extension :D

Nice, I don't really have too much PE on my deepwaters when my lights are on (but they come out when the lights go off), but I have seen Erics (fragfarmer) and he has a few deepwaters that have crazy polyp extension with lights on.

My deepwaters dont have crazy polyp extention, But i do see polyps from them all.
