I was working in the back of the store one day and a guy walks in, comes all the way to the back of the store and asks me this question.
Him : Do you guys have chimney supplies?
Me : Come agian?
Him : Chimney supplies, do you have them?
Me : This is a fish store. *pointing to the fish tanks
Him : Oh... *walks out red faced
He walked past 2 display reef tanks, a planted display, cichlid display, and all of our dry goods to get to me. When he was talking to me, I had my hand in our coral wall, moving corals. I was standing in front of 36 saltwater tanks...

Do you guys have bleach here?
No why on earth do you want that for your tank?!
To clean it, what the hell else would i use it for?
Maybe cleaning your shower, but never your tank!
Is that why my fish died? from putting bleach in the water?

Damn it, they told me all i needed was a filter to get it out of the water! Now i got to go home and put some muriatic acid in it to clean that up.

Okay, I am not an employee or anything, but I like to give dumbish people in the LFS edvice.
lady "honey look at that nemo fish, he's stuck!"
kid "poor fish, we should help him"
I look at the lady like she has lost her mind. Smile, "oh that fish is fine, thats his host nem, he lives there"
mom looks at me like I am the one talking (no offense) BS, "oh really"
me "yeah, he is just scared"
mom "oh, honey, the fish is fine"
kid dashes off
I have also had people I am friends with ask me count less times "how long LR lives, and why it is called that"!!!

Call #4: Can my swimming pool be saltwater so I can swim with the fish?

Customer: My new light system won't work.
Me: Double check the power cords and make sure it's switched on.
C: It is. It still won't work.
Me: Ok... did you take the plastic wrap off of the bulbs?
*Crinkling in the background*

i work at an lfs /pet store ( about 75 percent of the store is fish but we get teh kids inlooking around and the reptile guys and stuff... we are next to a publix so we also get a lot of kids while parents buy food) anywyas
abotu 4 times aday we get that tough kid and his lil girlfriend and he says in a stupid voice " live rock wth is that. its rock.. there just trying to make money" at which time i walk over throw food into the live rock tank and walk away.. girl usualy gives the guy a look like " your an idiot "
