Hey Everybody, I am a college student and I need to invest in an automatic feeder for when I am not around for a few days (4 at the most). Does anybody have any recommendations? I have an eclipse hood which may limit what I can put underneath it.
Here's one I've used before. It's nice because it's very flexible as far as feeding times and what you can put in it to feed. You can even use it to dose many medications, as long as they'll fit in the individual containers. It's also gotten some really good reviews:
The biggest problem I've had with this one is that if you live in someplace really humid like Florida, moisture will get in and flake foods will start to clump and stick to the feeder. I recently bought this feeder from Eheim, and although I haven't had a chance to use it yet, I've heard very good things about it:
omg how lazy can you get.. automatic feeders!!!!
wow
i dont belive it
jeez
i just dont feed em. i havent feed my fish in over 3 months. so i doubt that 4 days will hurt yours
( i do have lots of lr tho..)
clownfish looks good. purple tang looks perfect. jawfish is fat
I've also heard good things about the Eheim one--do you know if you can put it on its side? If I am going to be gone for 4 days I would like to be able to leave my hood closed.
Any suggestions on what to put in the Eheim? I tried it with a mixture of dry food and my skimmer went crazy and shut down, as the overflow filled up. I'd hate to have that happen over a week vacation.
What do you put in your feeder?
