"Hi All,
Hope all is well.
Well, Tuesday was another fun day of power outages. It went out somewhere around 8p Monday night and when Michael got to the store Tuesday, at 7:30a to check on things as he usually does, there was nothing but an eerie silence when he came in. Thus, the fun began! My beautiful Bellus angelfish in my display tank, a wrasse and a couple of corals were the casualties. I've had enough. Since opening the store, it's been one thing after another with electrical problems, a/c problems, not to mention you're occasional thief and whatnot.
So, after thinking long and hard about it for the last couple of days, I've decided that I will be closing the store at the end of the month. I will still have my business license, website and I'll be moving what I don't sell here to my home and will operate a smaller (yep, even smaller than the store) albeit safer business there. In time, who knows, maybe I'll open up another little place. One that has wiring that is from this century! In other words, I will still be around and still have things for sale, including dry goods, foods; everything pretty much like before; just not as accessible.
I am going to Puerto Rico on the 16th for a much needed vacation and to build my chocolate business which has taken off greatly; chocolate and fish?? who'd of thunk it! The shop may be open while I'm away, I'm just not sure yet. So, this weekend and all of next week is the time to come in and pick up some stuff.
I am letting go of the large frogspawn that is in my Solana tank by the front door. That tank has been moved to my home already. I have had him several years and he's about 12 - 14 heads (I don't know the price of him yet). All my fish and corals will be discounted. But, like I said, what I don't sell here, I'll just bring home with me. However, they will be discounted lower than I've had before. Once I figure out what I will and won't be taking home with me, equipment wise, I'll shoot an email out.
Many of you helped me out with generators, fans and buckets during the first power outage in August that lasted 5 days. We've had several others along the way, but usually not more than a couple of minutes. The one on Tuesday was another long one that didn't end 'til late yesterday. Again, thank you to those that helped me once again.
I'll keep sending emails and keeping you up to date with things. Please email me when you need something or just some advice like before; nothing's changed in that way.
I want to thank each and every one of you for your support, patronage and friendship throughout my time here. It means alot to me. I really wanted to make a difference in this hobby and I hope, in some small way, I did.
Take care and I hope to see you soon!
