for some reason all of the sudden my baby onyx clownfish wont eat. ive had him for over 3 months and he's still under an inch long. he was eating pellets and cyclopeeze during this entire time.

now he just nibbles on the food and spits it out. whats wrong? all the other fish in my tank are voracious as ever

have you tried feeding him something new? my young clown does the same thing, he nibbles and spits out and nibbles some more but after feeding i always see him with a plump stomach so he mustve gotten some food.

yea his stomach seems to be full... but i havent seen him eat. he usually eats in front of me, pecking at pellets. he doesn't even pay attention to cyclopeeze anymore...

frozen food?

frozen food?

Have you tried any frozen foods?
Seems like clowns like variety...I alternate Cyclopeeze, Formula One Flakes, ORAglo clownfish food, frozen mysis and frozen Rod's reef food.

The frozen mysis is easy to find, and they seem to go crazy for it, just not a good staple diet. May get him to eat though.

Good luck!

yea ive switched between lots of different foods, but nothing! his stomach still seems to be full, but he's not even interested in the food...

looking at the clownfish now, i think he may be constipated? i see a large bulge that seems to be coming out of his anal vent. im not sure what it is, but could these be parasites?

Daphnia will also purge the digestive system and clear them out. I would try didn't type of flakes and frozen until you find a food it likes. Then mix it up, variety is the best thing that can be provided to fish.
