Back after 7 months

I tried placing a tile near the parents anemones ... They did not like it at all. They attacked it everyday. Noticing they were late laying their next clutch of eggs, I removed the tile yesterday. Today they were happy and laid more eggs, on their favorite rock. Here's the video !

Great. Any signs of stripes yet?

Yes, The biggest one looks to be getting a head stripe ! Started feeding BBS last night. They attacked them as soon as they hit the water.

Update: Day 13
I still have 7 alive .... ! Four or five are through meta. I think two or three are not. They are very black with two white stripes. Sorry about the bad photo, I never catch them swimming by the front of the larvae tank.

OK .. All are through meta except one.
Question: How long do I have to keep putting phyto in the larvae tank ? I'm feeding them mostly BBS now.

Lol you can stop now agsansoo. That's awesome your doing great. Once they are eating BBS you can stop. They don't need the phyto after 5 days (mine don't yours may differ) If you stop and they all face the glass you know to keep going a few more days.

How old do the larvae need to be before I can transfer them to a bigger tank ? And what's the best method for the transfer, cup or brineshrimp net ?

Thanks rkelman. :)

I wouldn't move them until they are a month old. Don't net them use a bowl or container to catch them. If you move slow they aren't hard to catch.

My rotifer cultures:

I don't think I am coming anywhere near that kind of rotifer population. I've been searching everywhere for jugs like that.

FB

I bought them at Wally World (a.k.a. Wal-Mart) LOL. They are made by Rubbermaid (2-1/2 quart square).

My Rotifer routine:
I add nano paste twice daily. On the third day I get a turkey baster and suck all the sludge off the bottom of the rotifer jars. Then I pour 1/3 of the rot container through a sieve, replacing water with 1.019 saltwater. Feed more nano paste. Add a few drops of Prime, replacing jars back. Then enrich rots with T.iso paste. Wait two hours, finally feeding rotifer to my reef or larvae tank. Done.

That's waaay too much work for me. :)

That's what I'm thinking ! If you look at the top left jar, it's feed with live phyto. I was experimenting to see the difference. Live phyto is cleaner and takes longer for the water to clear. I just need more live phyto production.

I want to thank all those who helped me get this far ! Bill, rkelman, FB and Lifes A Beach !

Your welcome, and thanks for sharing your experiences...we all benefit from each other!

Looking at the close-up of your rotifer count, you really have a great density....good work!!! I also use the nanno paste but by the looks of your density, why would you even consider phyto! ;)

btw...I have a batch that is hatching right now...that's the best part of this whole process...in my opinion! :)
