Thanks Rob. Do you prefer the vho's or the t-5's? Back in the days, I used to run 2x400 Iwasaki's and 2x110 watt vho's.

still love the VHO's man!!! OLD school!!!:D :smokin: :D

13threefmaniac, thanks for kudos!!! no im not breeding clowns although the pairs i have are spawning constantly :), i just dont have the time to dedicate the whole breeding process.

I been really busy with work and shutting down the 2 prop tanks, 1 is gone already sold to a buddy of mine as rimless display and the other one is being replaced with a new 60 gallons glass rimless display that just arrived last week starphire front 50x20x14 so it no longer is an extensive propagation system as some might think.

I will be posting more updated pictures soon!!!

thanks again for the kind words

Impressive craftsmanship!!! What a clean build all the way around, and your corals look amazing. Makes my 40 look like a dump! :D

I just added the old VHOs back to the tanks after months of crap from Robie. Thanks Robie, I'm sure the tank will look better in a few weeks.

Any new pics Robie? I'm always in the look out for pictures of your precious and colorful corals.A full tank shot will be highly appreciated.
Thanks. Joe

Acro bat:

Glad to see you are around. I am sending you a PM.

Robz:

Nice tank as always, but you don't need me to tell you that. Good to see things are going well for you.

I do have a question for you. How are you dealing with parasites and diseases in acros and montiporas? I know pretty much everyone and their mother in this area, as well as the VA/DC/MD are have acro flat worms, red bugs, etc. With as much trading and selling/buying of frags these days there is no way to avoid them. What are you doing about it?

As far as the anthias go, I found out with my harem (got to 30+ at one point) that they will do OK with minimal feeding several times per day instead of heavy feeding several times per day. They will love to eat many times, but they don't seem to be able to eat a lot at one time like many other smaller fish. I even experimented with once per day feeding, and they did just fine in a mature tank. It made "me" feel better to feed several times per day though.

LooseHip,
thanks man glad you like my tank, im sure you can make your 40 look amazing, patience is key for this i seen amazing small tanks.

Rik, your tank laready look sweet, a month with te VHO's and you are cooking;)

Joe!!! amigo como estas viejo!!! are you set up already? i promise as soon as i get some time to take a few nice shots i will post them, i've been verybusy lately but will take some shots soon.

Albertito!!!! were you been hiding like a shadow and you know we miss you dog;)
thanks man im glad you like the tank, this time around i really dont have so much time to be in the forums like before, the family requires soooo much more time:lol: well you know better.
As far as the New parasites that i've learn to know getting back in the hoby after many years are to be worry about, but i think they are everywere, lots of reefers go though them even trying everything possible to avoid them at some point, quarentine dips, wrasses, dragon pipe fish squirting your corals, interceptor, coral revive, is always going top be a contant fight to make your animals thrive... this is part of being in this hobie.
personally i try deeping first and having my new corals in a separate system for a couple of weeks before adding them to the display, in the main box im always checking all the colonies for any sign of stress or color loss , bite marks etc.
I think not only in you are and here but everywere this parasite show sooner or later in a coral or hicking in a piece of rock.

As for the Anthias at the begginin i was feding so many time a day with the concern that they needed many feedings a day but the result of high nutrients in the tank wasnt what i was amming for, i feed them a couple of times even once a day and they are doing great!!

Buddy is good to hear from you, dont be a stranger... are you still biking?hope the family is doing good man, and hope to see you back in the hobie soon, you dont need a huge tank to enjoy this hobie...really ;) and dont be a stranger:rolleyes: :smokin:

Yep. It is actually called cycling;) . Doing about 200-250 miles/week. One thing you find out soon enough after not having a tank is all the free time you have all of the sudden. I took the opportunity to get rid of the 130 Lb I had gained sitting on my arz playing with the tank and such. I frequent a cycling forum and there are tons of reefers in that forum that cycle quite a bit too. Some out of the hobby for now and some others not. You'd be surprised........... As soon as I buy a house again, which may take an act of congress at this point to convince me of it, I will set up the tank again.:)
