3 more hours till I go get it!

Great looking stand. I really like the wide open front when the doors are opened. Plenty of room to get things in & out.

Got water in the tank last night and today. Must have been funny watching my drunk *** mixing salt. Ill get some pictures up tomorrow!

my sand recommendation

my sand recommendation

CaribSea Special Grade Seafloor.
Make it no deeper than 1 inch.
Put liverock in place directly on bottom glass before adding sand. Liverock most be positioned so there's no shifting around (no questionable stacking!) and keep as little rock as possible from touching the glass.

I am going feed a fuge and my calcium reactor with the RO line just so everyone knows.

I got the plumbing going today and Im getting ALOT of micro bubbles in the tank. I will post pics later of my set up so you can tell me where they could be coming from. Ideas befor I get to doing that?

That RO can't give you very much flow through the fuge.

Micro bubbles could be coming from a number of sources. Where do you observe them besides the display? (coming into the sump from the display, right after the skimmer chamber, in the return chamber) Looking back at your sump design, that mag 9.5 might not be submerged under enough water. I think the Mag 9.5 is about 5-6" high? So your return line is only submerged under 2-3" of water.

Pictures will definitely help. I've never gotten a sump the way that I like it on the first try. A minor tweak may be needed. That reminds me that removing and rearranging baffles is probably one of my least favorite exercises in this hobby.

I just ducked out of my office and double checked mine. The water level in my return chamber is 12". Any lower and I start to see micro bubbles.

My eheim 1262 output and dimensions are comparable to the mag 9.5. I direct a bit more flow to my fuge, so you may have a higher velocity going from your display to your sump than I do.

Im getting alot of bubbles out of my drain line. Any idea on what I need to do to fix it?

With the filter sock up it goes away but there is still alot of noise coming from the line.

The pump will sit in 8" of water. From what I read 6" was ok. I have the water level high just because I was filling the tank the rest of the way out of the sump. I dont think the micro bubbles were coming from the return area of the sump but from the drain line.

what size sump are you using? curous because I have a similar size tank that I want ot move my sump from basement to upstairs...

great looking canopy, i bet its going to look awesome when installed :D

never owned a durso standpipe so i am clueless about the bubbles and noise issue, my dad was in a similar situation with his tank, i believe he removed the 90degree elbow

My plumbing to my sump is different because I use an overflow instead of a reef ready, so I can't comment there. A couple of thoughts on the sump:
-If you can raise the 3rd baffle (all the way to the left, right before the return pump) to 1/2" lower than the 1st baffle, you might be able to force more air to the surface without causing a waterfall effect.
-If you can add a baffle (or even a pair for the over under) directly after the skimmer and inlet section and can leave a wide section in the middle, you'll force a lot of air out of the water in the first section of the sump.

The build is looking great. I'm digging that canopy!
