Backdraft79's 90RR build thread.

Ill be going to pick up the canopy and cabnet tomorrow night. I havent had time to get pictures up of them being mad and finished due to a dealth in the family. I want to get this thing filled with my coral and fish from my 55 but I know I cant rush it!

Oh wow so sorry to hear, My prayers go out to your family. Looks great so far :)

45 degree angle to the water just above the surface so trapped air can escape the drain and the water flows somewhat gently into the sump you can still hear the "waterfall" but I dont suffer from micro bubbles just noisy tank in the movie room.

ditto that here.
Just before water empties out the drains it hits a 45.
Another arrangement that works great is a horizontal spraybar. Not only does it aerate draining water thoroughly but it eliminates the sound of a deluge.
For this one use a 12"-24" long piece of PVC drilled with many 1/4" diameter holes (pointing downwards) and mount the spray bar horizontally.

If all else fails simply cover the sump :)

Gary, I have seen this. My question would there be a problem with back pressure? But I guess if there was enough holes that problem would be solved.

Im so happy!!! Well I made it home safe and sound with everything!

Very nice!! That woodwork is looking real sharp!

I've never used spa tubing before. Does the shape of it cause more friction and noise? I wonder if you could get away with flexible pvc?

In the last couple of days the noise has gone down alot but im still going to change it. As for the shape of it it could very well add some noise bc of the ribs. With the flexible PVC I dont think I could get it to bend enough. Maybe im wrong?
