Bad Fish Week For Me

SkullV

They Got My Number
Well after losing my Coral Beauty to Crypt in my FOWLR I have noticed some sort of fungus or possibly Lymphocystis on one of my Snowflake Clowns in my reef.

The clown and everything else in the reef is fully QT and dipped so that gives me some hope. The clown is still eating very well so hopefully whatever it is will go away on its own.

Sucks when stuff like this happens.

Like Steve said can you post a pic? You'll probably find out what it is and how to treat it, why shoot in the dark.

There is a little raised white bump behind her white stripe on her head and 2 little white dots (not crypt) on one of her fins.

I will try to get a photo tonight but I'll have to borrow one of my friends DSLR, there is no way my point and shoot will get it. She's too fast.

Lets just hope it's the sand grains that are stuck to her... I know sometimes my fish have spots on them but I now it's not crypt it them playing and kicking the sand up and a few grains get stuck on them making it look like ick bumps... Crossing my fingers...

No it's not. Its something that wasn't there the first day I got her but is there now. It doesn't seem to be affecting swimming, breathing, or eating at this point so I'm hoping its just some harmless Lymphocystis. None of the other fish have any symptoms either.

I did get a Hospital/QT tank today so that should be good if she needs it.

Welcome to the Bad luck club!!I have been having nothing but lots of it.Hope everything gets sorted out.

Woke up this morning and saw the flame angel laying on it's side and everyone is breathing heavily.

Just added the first dose of cupramine so we'll see how things look tonight and in 48 hours when they are supposed to get the second dose.

Have you tested your water? If everyone is breathing heavy it might be a water quality issue.

I hope your fish pull through.

Good luck!

Unfortunatly I didn't have time to test the water but since it was new saltwater from the same source I use for my Display Tank, I had unplugged the air pump and I used a fully cycled filter I kind of chalked it up to lack of oxygenation. Plugged back in the air pump and the pinkface perked back up.

make sure that hospital tank is well circulated to keep up the oxygenation.

That's kind of what I thought, I have a canister filter that is way overrated from the tank but there is no oxygenation. Hopefully plugging back in the air pump will make things a bit better. I'll test the water when I get home just to be sure.

That's bad news man,i would seriously consider using smething other than cupramine.Maybe malachite green, might be a bit stronger.
