Bad timing and it sux

Obviously you all know I live and breathe Dodger baseball. Been on such a high and was geeking for tonight's start of the World Series. But then, life throws a wrench in your plans.

This morning I, with my son and daughter, took a beloved member of our family, our dog Winnie to the Veterinarian where we said our goodbyes and she was put down. Saturday she was running around and playing with the other dogs and just being her awesome self and 24 hrs later everything changed. At the vet yesterday for tests to diagnose what was going on she had a seizure. We took her home since there's nobody at vets overnight and she seized again. It was so disturbing to watch her go through that and then the after effects of the seizure. I stayed up all night with her. Today we found out she was in kidney failure, pancreatitis, bottom line organs shutting down so we spared her any more suffering.

Winnie, there will never be a dog that can come close to taking your place. You're missed so much already IMG_3240.jpg

Sorry about Winnie, I had to put my dog of 9 years down this past April and I feel your pain. It was definitely one of the hardest things I had to do.

So sorry for your loss... Stay strong for your son & daughter. I remember losing my dog when I was younger and it was very traumatic.

So sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is to have to put a beloved companion down, but remember, there are a bunch of great dogs looking for a good home when you're family is feeling better.

Sorry about your loss :( Went through the same thing two years ago when we had to say goodbye to our dalmatian mix Roxy. We got her as an 8 week old rescue and she lived to the ripe old age of 16. Similar situation, everything was kosher the day before. I come home from work and about 10 min later she starts having a seizure. We're waiting around comforting her and the seizure just wont end. We took her to the pet emergency, they dosed her heavily with Valium to try to get the seizure to subside, which it sort of did. We said our goodbyes and had her put to sleep. I cried like a little girl the rest of the evening and most of the next day. Just remember the good times, and not the bad and it helps get through it.

oh wow. I'm sure she lived a good life and even though they're pets, they still part of the family.
yes she was and yes she did.

thank you. My son is 21 and my daughter 18 but for the 15 minutes before we let them take her all of us were like 10 yr olds

Yes there are. I adopted Winnie at 6 months from a home she received abuse from. All our animals are adoptions with the exception of one. We still have two dogs and I don't see another dog in our near future
sorry to hear Rik,
thanks Sanh

Brought tears to my eyes....sorry bro.
Thank you

Thanks, she was a special pup and we are glad we got as much time with her as we did. Funny thing about that pic. She loved water, and this little stream she was laying in was fed by springs and snow melt and was probably about 45 degrees. She would sit there and shiver in the water until she couldn't take it anymore, then go warm up in the sun. Rinse and repeat..
