Bali Catshark Breeding

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to share with you the most recent shark species that I have bred and hatched, Atelomycterus baliensis.

Catsharks have been my biggest passion for as long as I can remember and I have truly dedicated myself to this family of shark... and a several others.
To my knowledge this species has only been bred in Oari Aqua World in Japan. I would love to hear if anyone knows otherwise.

Way to go!!! Thanks for sharing this. I have never kept sharks myself b/c I haven't been in a position to have the right set-up but I find them very interesting. I used to work at an aquarium as tour guide and I tried to sneak over to the shark pond as much as I could.

Thanks again. Congrats.

Yeah - very well done, indeed. Especially since it's a fairly recently discovered species. IIRC - it was discovered about 10 years ago.

Oh- btw, Chris - maybe you should tell everyone about the successful breedings of some of the other catshark species which you work with. :)

Thanks for the comments. I'm not sure if this forum is only for bony fish.

Ralph, sounds like a fun job. If I had that job, I know where I would be hanging out all the time!- In the LSS room! haha Too bad you are not doing it anymore.

Here are several pictures of the system which have helped contribute to happy sharks.
