Bangui Cardinal 3rd wheel

Ao I have had these three banzai cardinal for about a month now. A couple days ago I noticed one had something white on his eye like an injury. He the disappeared for 2-3 days. When he finally reappeared his dorsal fine was bitten off and I noticed one of the other bangaii's hovering over him with a bit of aggression. They seemed fine when I first got them all swimming around together. Now it is just two while the other hides in the rocks. Any thoughts? Do I need to rehome him.

I'd recommend removing the one that's being bullied as it sounds like the other two have paired off. The dominant male will usually kill the subordinate male, happened to me in a 150 gallon.

So my system is full of hiding holes and thoughts on how to catch this guy?he was able to live in the rocks without being noticed for three days.

I had the same situation with 2 males and a female that I had in a QT. It was all fine for a few weeks, but then the female hooked up with one of the males. Together they killed of the extra male so fast that I didn't get a chance to intervene.

Maybe try netting him when feeding? I had one hide for months in my 90 gallon - I actually thought it had died.
