no the skimmer gravity drains out - syphons out - what ever you want to call it. the skimmer just is a recirculating type it doesnt move water from the aquarium to the skimmer to the sump or anywhere. it just takes water from the bottom box area and it goes into the pump (air is injected with a large air pump) the air and water mix and it spits it out into the bubble diffusor. Aquarium water enters the tube area, and drains out a hole thats in the box area. eh kinda fuzzie huh?

i was going to come up with an original post, but the pics just threw me for a loop! absolutely incredible, but makes my 75 gal project look like childs play.

LOL...it makes both of our tanks look like a good place to clean off the wet suits once done cleaning the glass....

ok guys here is some update pics. things are going slow right now on the tank because the shell of the house needs to be built first. then the tank can get worked on.

Dang... They put all that up so fast? geez how long until the whole house is finished? I guess I never realized how fast houses get built. Anyways tell them to hurry up!!!!

Ya devotion of 100 plus construction workers, and a motivated builder anxious to get more exposure. And endless backing from NBC...

That show is fun to watch, but things like that don't happen for many people. The rest of us get a house built in months, not days. You can wait weeks sometimes just to get an inspector to come out and ok something like electrical or plumbing.

Spazz, can you ask Bill if he would like a live-in butler who is PADI certified (at least I will be by the time I move in), is a jarhead but can learn to control his foul mouth, and will volunteer to dive the tank for a thorough cleaning every couple days?

I'M JUST SAYIN!!!! :D

sorry jarhead i dont think his dad would approve of you. he is retired navy. he eats jarheads for lunch and dinner.

just messing with ya. but his dad really is a retired navy, so i dont think its a good mesh.

Spazz, the butler comment brings up a very good point. Does Bill plan on hiring out any of the daily busy work maintenance required for this tank? I have a hard enough time finding time to work on my 50 gallon tank let alone one 350 times larger. Public aquariums have full time staff members for smaller tanks than this. Does he plan on doing everything himself?

If you have already talked about this, just tell me to go re-read the last 20 pages. :D

Never met a Swabbie tough enough to do that. And I worked with some of the operators in SEAL teams 1&2 when I was active duty USMC.

But its a cute thought.

:D
