I understand that these fish need to be kept 1 male to several females. how do I go about getting them though? The major online retailers don't seem to id them by sex. I know bartlett's are pretty common so someone must know the answer to this. If I order small ones will that ensure they're all females? or is there a retailer that will sex them for me?

The males have a lot more pinkish/fuchsia color to more of their body than the females, which are mostly orange. If in doubt, ask for all small, orange females. The most dominant female will ultimately change to a male. Most reputable dealers will be able to sex them, and if yours cannot, find another dealer. There are many in the sponsors section.

Here are a couple pics, showing the differences...
